Master of Random Thought
Took a little ride north of Baton Rouge (use your cajun accent when you say that!) yesterday morning. Ended up venturing into Woodville, MS and turning west towards the Mississippi River on Hwy 24. I knew the river was up and wanted to see just how high it had gotten, so I headed to Fort Adams.
This should have been my first clue, that's not a swamp by the road.
A short while later, I came across these cows loudly protesting their smaller pasture. They just wouldn't shut up the whole time I was snapping photos
They must be racing cows, they all have numbers. :dntknw:
This answer my question about the river. I'm not sure, but the locals seem to like using the flooded road as a boat launch. There were about a dozen pickups with trailers parked nearby and a steady stream of more headed that way when I turned around. Maybe they wanted to explore their neighbors' yards from a new perspective.
Gratuitous shots of Hwy 24.
I headed back down towards Angola Prison to see if I could get to the river. Uh, nope.
Maybe next week I'll actually plan a route to find a better vantage point. But for now, that's all I've got.
