FYI, Just saw that the Mobil M1-110 Oil filters which I use and work well are selling for $8.50 on Amazon today which is about the lowest price ever.

They are normally around $12-$14 or so ...

In any event I picked up 4 at this price and thought others might want some as well ... Get them before the price jumps again ...

Looks good, and thanks. But before I order some, since this is a model I haven't seen referred to here, I'll ask: is this considered a good FJR filter? I know that by bringing it up here, it's an implied approval by you, Mr. Z, so no offense offered. Just being cautious. Thanks.

Yes, but if you have been following that Bosch thread, you would know they made a change in the filter base. It no longer fits the FJR.

Been using this filter on my 07 for the past year, no problems. I got two locally a few months back for $10.99 ea. so this is a good price!

No offense taken ... Filters seem to be a personal thing ...

In any event, the M1-110 is widely used in a lot of motorcycle applications and is always on the "recommended" list of quality aftermarket filters.

I just decided to start using them 3 years ago because they are readily available, top quality and are a tad larger than original which makes me feel better about changing the filter every 2 oil changes as the owners manual recommends. They easily accommodate extended drain intervals etc ...

I have used them from Key West to Canada for thousands of miles with good results.

If you search on this and the other forum, they will come up from time to time and are recommended.

Lol...Boys...

I just bought 5. Had to reach $35 for free shipping cuz I let Prime expire. Lol...4 was only $34 and shipping was like $6.50, so it was a better deal to get 5. Haha...Spending money to save money.

change was not made in filter base. screw up at factory, read the threads more closely & don't act like a know-it-all.
I did not see where it was established that it was a screw up at the factory as opposed to a redesign. If that is the case, an awful pile of them made it into the marketplace. Not only the Bosch but the Purolator (PL15612) ones too. If it was a factory error, a recall would have removed all the "defective" filters from the shelves by now.

I have been mostly using the Mobil M1-110 filters and (so far) I haven't had an issue. Whatever I choose to use, I will be checking the baseplate before I buy.

ONe theory being that Purolator bought Champion and consolidated production.... making more than one brand, including Bosch. If the base plate was an error, the raw threads would be out, but it isn't.... looks like design change to me. However, that should have been coordinated with a thicker gasket.

Please don't take words out of context. I wasn't acting like a "know it all." Far from it, I was pointing out a thread that might interest you in this discussion.

This. Too recent of a problem with those filters for me to risk an order without seeing the filter. And props to this guy for not trying to be an internet tough guy. cool dude
