Monikers or call signs

First off, I apologize if I am stepping into an area that I shouldn't, but Ari Rankum's question of what a dogpile got me wondering, there are a number of terms used in here that I an unfamiliar with.

Many times I can infer the word's meaning through the usage but one area that I am totally clueless is some members: nicknames, names, monikers, or call signs.

A lot of people such as Ari Rankum, Ignacio, Kaitsdad, FJR1300Jeff, FJR pig, Rogue, Twowheelnut, FJRchik, RonFJR06, etc., etc., I can guess are their real names, parent to a child, initials, outlook, or attitude.

But there are some monikers that leave me totally clueless.

So this is asked with the utmost of respect and admitted curiosity: would the members with monickers such as Scab, Bounce, Warchild, Toecutter, Uselesspickles, Slapnpop, gotpackage, Hopzilla, etc., etc.

Did the monikers come about due to an experience in life, an event or is it none of my business?

There was a thread at one time named something like, "How did you get your name" but it seems to have gotten lost in one of the hack attacks. Many of the names you are asking about were explained there. Perhaps an admin could look it up in the homeless thread pool.

Quite right. Restored and put here. Without objection, I'd like to close this thread so that people that want to add, put it in the other thread. Perhaps we'll think about pinning that other one in some way.
