Motels in Duluth

Any suggestions on reasonably priced places to stay in/near Duluth?

I've stayed at several in Duluth / Superior and I always go back to The BridgeView BestWestern in Superior if I have the family along and want more amenities like pool / recreation starting at $59.00. Its just across the bridge from Duluth. If your looking for someplace more inexpensive I go just south to the Superior Inn in Superior. If your wanting to stay on the duluth side I've had good luck with Americas Best Value Inn just above Duluth South on I-35.

Camping is the way to go if you want the full VBR experience. Bonfires, beer, and many stories shared that way. If you want to hotel it one to look at is the Duluth Spirit Mountain Inn. It's close by and relatively inexpensive compared to others in Duluth at that time of the year. Duluth is a big tourist town so prices really get crazy for hotels in the summer. Avoid the Canal Park area unless you have a fat wallet.

The VBR web site should have some hotel recommendations when it gets up and running. They may even have some discount rates.

stryg8r is right. Camping at Spirit Mountain is the way to go for the VBR. Sloped sleeping at it's finest. Hey, it's a ski area, it not suppose to be flat. Great views of Lake Superior and the beautiful West end of Duluth.

I was at the VBR2 and it was great. Good draw from around the country and Canada. Last time there was live music and all the usual motorcycle related activities. Real beer is available on Sunday on the WI side.

Yes, camping in a tent with a sleeping bag. Bring a jet boil with a coffee press for a freah brew first thing in the morning. Have your own little spot on the ski hill to retreat to for a short nap after numerous beers while swapping stories and assorted tall tales. Live music close and your bike stays close to you. It a decent set up and the crowd is fun.

There's even tours at the Aerostich in the prosperous West End of Duluth. It's right next to the Plasma Center, just in case you don't have enough cash to buy the farkle of your dreams.

I all ready told my wife I'm going. She's not a camping type, so she's staying home. Boy, did I plan that one correctly.
