Does anyone know if anyone is still selling the Motion Pro Economy Carb Tuner? I looked at the Morgan Carbtune but they seem a little expensive.

After talking to the local dealer service dept I think I would rather do the TBS myself.

Warsw,

I purchased the Motion Pro Deluxe for $88.00 at California Sport Touring.

It paid for itself the first time I used it :D AND you get a whole bunch of new friends :drinks: when they learn you have one. <_<

warsw I see you live in Or. and am not sure about the laws there. But here in the restricted area known as California, Motion Pro is no longer allowed to sell any equipment that contains mercury. We now are required to use the electronic gizmos to do a TBS according to MotionPro as I had emailed them in the past and they said they can't ship mercury anymore. But I just ordered one of the econo units from the Ca. Sport Touring Inc. link above. We'll see what happens. PM. <><

Despite the whiney babies that are trying to block the sale of those units, you can still find them. Get an extra containter of mercury for the when the current supplies run out.

Or better yet, spend the money for the Morgan system and never have to worry about the mercury. I've used one for a few years now, and it's the dogs dangles. Another nice thing about it is you can put in in a drawer of your toolbox. No need to hang upright on your wall so the mercury doesn't drain out. If you've got kids or pets it's a no-brainer.

I bought the deluxe model and it works like a charm. I plug off the vent tubes to reduce the toxicity when i am not using it (mercury evaporates into the atmosphere), plus I sealed the joints with silicone.

If you can find a deluxe one (yellow one) , i recommend it over the standard econo jobby.

Also-- if you cant find a mercury one, try Kowa https://kowatools.com/ -- these are the cool roller toolsets you see at the GP races, i bought some stuff from them-- i recommend

I did a search on this subject and someone had mentioned that in the MotionPro econo unit would produce readings that were not accurate. Anyone have an issue with this unit? Thanks, PM. <><

I have 2 for sale cheap. $25 ea plus ship sound reasonable? I'll figure out a way to save the mercury in each.

Never heard of anyone having problems with the econo ones. People have been using them for years. Mine have worked since I got them for my 10/2002 dellivered 2003 model. When all the hubub started about discontinuing them, and then the stink about shipping mercury, I ordered a replacement dose of mercury to have on hand (unopened) for any eventuality.

If I never need it for the carb stix, I may try making a hat.

just build one. for portability -- go with a solid rod model (like the morgan carbtune)

+1 on California Sport Touring. I've purchased from them several times, which included the Motion Pro Economy Carb Tuner. They were still selling them in August when I bought mine.

Anyone know where I can acquire a little mercury for my sync tool? Mine looks to be a little low and could use a top up.

Thanks for answering a question I was thinking as I scrolled through the posts.

I went out to the garage and plugged off the tube ends; it looks to have evapped some but should be enough left to still work.

Do you need the 6mm Yamaha adapter kit for the FJR? It costs $15.
