Our guys on the commentary have just announced that due to a bad weather forecast the Moto GP race may be brought forward if it is deemed that it will avoid the worst of the weather. Set your recorders to start early or get there early.

Crap... it's supposed to be shown live on TV, so you know the network's gonna ball it up... sigh...

Hopefully they'll just show it time-delay. Hopefully.

Of course if they do, they'll probably start the broadcast "zOMG we can't wait to show you Ben Spies winning the USGP live on tape!"

Qualifying Spoiler:

I don't think any premiere class riders were injured, but one of the 125 guys might have been in turn 16.

Vermeulen crashed, as did Elias, during qualifying, but both were up and walking around afterwards. I was out at Stand J for qualifying, and saw them on the jumbotron. Stoner had a high side yesterday morning, but was OK.

As is probably known by most, Rossi got the pole by .08 seconds with Stoner 2nd. Lorenzo rounds out the first row, and Nickey Hayden is in 4th to start.

The Sunday schedule right now at 11 pm edt remains the same, i.e. premier class race is at 3 pm edt.

Weather today was hot and muggy. No rain all day. Tomorrow's weather is a crap shoot. Ike is still quite a bit to the south and west.

Since they want us in our parking spots at 8 am so they can resell the space if we're not showing, there isn't any danger of folks on the ground in Indy missing the race.

The AMA Indy Mile Flat Track race this evening pretty much reminded me of NASCAR on dirt. Go fast, go left, go fast, go left.... The snide comment from Chris Carr regarding the race tomorrow was uncalled for, and pretty much was indicative of just how poorly AMA "gets it."

What was the snide comment?
He thanked the fans for coming to the AMA race, and that was appropriate and not controversial. Then he said "You'll see a lot better race here tonight than you will tomorrow."

He was not talking about the weather.
