Apparantly Lorenzo is to have his own one bike team. Possibly something to do with ego size. Couldn't see him getting on with Rossi for a second. He is rapidly becoming one of those guys you love to hate.

I don't think Whore-gay would do good with a one-bike team. Love him or hate him, he's got some talent and he should go to an established seat in an established program. If he goes to a one-bike team that isn't established, he will be doing all of the development work and will be slow to join the pack. Too bad whore-gay couldn't get a one-off ride in the USGP since the 250s and 125s aren't running there. Would be interesting to see how he would do.

Rossi needs is a teammate that can stick himself between Rossi and the other riders to take points away from the other riders by finishing higher than them. Edwards is doing OK and he and rossi get along great, but, he's not there week in and week out. Guintoli might be able to do it if he could just keep the bike on 2 wheels. There are so many open spots, it's impossible to know how it's going to play out...will probably come down to money.

Let's just cross our fingers that Max Biatchi doesn't weasel his way back in.

All good fun at this point in the season. Mainly guess work fuelled by speculation and whispers.

You are right about Lorenzo Randy, he might struggle in a one man outfit, I imagine he will be quick to lay the blame as well.

That sounds like an admission that Rossi can't rely on his own ability any more. I don't see Stoners teammate taking any points of Rossi as they duke it out at this stage of the title race - he's out front on his ability and merit.

Go Casey (and Chris and Ant)

Rossi needs a tank bag and backpack for all of the excess ability he has. He had a 10th at Turkey and a DNF at Sachsenring, yet, he's only 32 points out of the chase right now - you can't write him off. I'm not taking anything away from Stoner - he's riding like a madman and he has skills beyond belief, but, imagine the cushion he would have if Capirex would have had a few more results like he did in Germany.

Every point that you get, and every point that your competition doesn't get, is crucial.

Absolutely not - in my book he is still favourite to take the title this year I'm not taking anything away from Stoner - he's riding like a madman and he has skills beyond belief, but, imagine the cushion he would have if Capirex would have had a few more results like he did in Germany. Randy, in addition to my points in blue above: Edwards has taken points off Casey once this year (Stoners 5th at Jerez), and Capa has taken points off Rossi once too (Rossi's 10th at Istanbul). Capa and Edwards have also taken points off their ream mates only once each this year. Effectively the help each of Rossi and Stoner is getting from their team mates as regards race results/points help is all square. Rossi's 2 worst results are DNF (crash) and 10th; Caseys are 5th and 5th. Rossi has won 3 races, Stoner 5 this year. It's OK to just admit that Rossi is being outridden this year by Casey Stoner.

I think that Casey is head and shoulders the rider of the year, so far. The coolness he is showing under pressure, particularly when when Rossi is pressing, is amazing for a 21 year-old. I think that Rossi is still the better bet to win the title, but I think you are looking at his season through Yamaha coloured specs.

Construction on the Indianapolis MotoGP track begins today.

They aren't wasting any time.

They must of had the design completely finalized when they signed the deal.

13 months of earth moving to go.

Just heard that Toseland will be joining a "factory Yamaha team" for MotoGP next year. That's all I know.

Alan

Some big news I received today is that James Toseland is headed to Tech 3 Yamaha for his first MotoGP ride.... excellent!

News - 01/08/2007Tech 3 Yamaha MotoGP rider announcement

Tech 3 Yamaha would like to announce that it has secured the services of James Toseland for the 2008 season. The British rider will begin his MotoGP career with the Yamaha factory supported organisation next year. Toseland – who is currently leading the Superbike World Championship by 43 points – has already proved his racing credentials. He was the youngest ever World Superbike Champion in 2004 and is aiming to secure the title once again this season. “I am delighted to have secured a rider of James’ calibre and am looking forward to working with him,” says Team Principal Herve Poncharal. “Procuring James is a major coup for Tech 3 Yamaha and for the MotoGP championship in extending our reach into Northern Europe. It is an exciting time for us all and I am certain that he will be an integral part of the team’s future.” Further details, including James’ team structure will be announced in due course.

Won't affect Colin - Tech3 is a second Yamaha team, not the Fiat Yamaha team that Rossi and Edwards ride for
