You know Edwards is gonna have extra drive to hunt down Lorenzo
Extra drive or not, that's going to be tough riding on a Yamaha satellite team. And in four seasons now on the first factory team, he's not found the drive to win a single race.

I think Rossi has hit the panic button with his switch to Bridgestone. This looks like a recipe for disaster:

"In order to facilitate the use of both Michelin tyres and Bridgestone tyres within the Yamaha Factory Team and to ensure confidentiality of data for each tyre company, Yamaha will organize separate rider pit boxes, but the Fiat Yamaha Team will continue to operate and race as one team."

And with the annoucement that Yamaha will go back and race the conventional valve spring engine, this looks like a tough year for The Doctor. I see him no higher than 4th or 5th in the championship.

He should have won at Assen last year...binned it in the final turn.

It's all speculation at this point as we don't know what Michelin is gonna do to kick it up a notch.

If I were a betting man, and I am, I would never bet on Rossi being outside of the top 3 barring injury.

I don't think that Yamaha wanted Edwards to ever beat Rossi. Yamaha needed Edwards to validate the machine and test teh piss out of it and the tires. He has always been known as a very good tire tester.

I agree that Edwards should have won the Assen round had he not screwed the pooch right at the end last year. It was unfortunate, because I really like him as rider. I like what he did to Honda his last year on the Honda in superbike when they told him they were not going to renew his conctract mid-season. Then he won out most of the races and took the championship and the #1 plate with him.

I can see the confidentiality thing not working and leading to fireworks. I wonser what the tyre manufacturers are saying about it behind closed doors?
