Sure, Chad gets the best ride, and what does Honda provide me, champion of the 54 year old 245 lb gray hair class? :glare:

Nice lookin' scoot, but what happened to a 21 out front and a 17 in the rear? Looks like I've been outa touch with the latest and greatest setups. Might work better, but looks funny (not funny haha, funny strange).

17" rear???

Motocross bikes have been using 19" rear tires for some time now. Enduro, dual sport and Adventure bikes mostly use 18" rears since the 18" tires tend to have more sidewall.

I think the reasoning is the 19" tires are lighter therefore less unsprung weight whereas the 18" tires with their larger sidewall provide more flex thereby providing better flat protection. Some say the 19" rear squirm less due to the lower profile thereby improving handling on the track.

The stock Honda CFR450x comes with an 18" rear but most serious motocrossers switch to a 19" rim for the above stated reasons.
