It looks like by Tuesday, we will have all the details worked out to attend the September MotoGP in Indy. Two of my close riding buddies that happen to work with me and two customers (yes, its going to be a "work trip") will be trying to get everything set up to be there from Thursday night on... :yahoo:

A couple of quick questions.....

-Any FJR Forum members planning on attending?

-If you know the raceway at all, we are trying to get in the grandstands H or J. Do you think this is a good place to see the race?

-Any suggestions for fun in the area. We will not be riding to the event as the two customers are not long distance riders and we need to make it a quick "work" trip.

Thanks

Ray

I am planning on attending! Can't help with where to sit or fun in the region though, I've only been to the city once and never to the track itself.

Count me in too! I'm looking onto chartering a bus with our local Honda dealer. Should be a good time.

Same Here. By looking at the track map grandstands J and H seem to have great views of turns 10 - 16 right before the finish line. Here's a picture

I, my son, son-in-law, a great motorcycle tech & his wife are going. Indeed when we ordered our tics last year we felr Grandstand H gives a great view. Don't wait too much longer as the tickets are selling well.

Greetings to all! The GP race is going to be great! H seats are really good ones. For other stuff going on it just depends what you are into. Downtown is really busy with the night life. The circle center mall and all the restraunts are all right there. If you want to find a great place to ride I would suggest Brown county, Nashville IN. St Rd 135. Or Madison St Rd 56/156. Just my two cents from a Hoosier.

Oh by the way the track is on the north side of town so you will have to drive/ride downtown.

The wife and I will be there. J stand. I have never been to indy or any motorcycle (road) race. It should be great!

I will be setting with 6 other FJR riders in stand J. The track is offering rides on the road course for motorcycle groups. I was going to stop by there next week for some info. I work about 5 miles from the track.

Things to do in Indy.

Downtown has some great bars and restaurants.

Must go to the Slippery Noodle Inn. Indy's oldest bar and lot of good music.

The track is planning lots of venders, activities and racing.

Yamaha will be offering test rides on their bikes.

Must go to the 500 museum if you are into cars or racing.

I will be going to the Saturday night flat track race on the 1 mile track held at the Indiana State Fair grounds in Indy.

Lots of fun.

Kind of up in the air for me. Bought 4 tickets way back when because I had three other people say they were going. Well....I have 4 tickets still! *******s.

Have hotel reserved in Carmel (24 hr cancellation policy just in case) but haven't booked a flight. Anyway, my tickets are Corner 7 Terrace. I may have tickets to unload eventually.

Don't forget to pick up tickets for the Indy Mile on Saturday night!

I have 4 tickets in stand H all weekend and 2 for the Indy Mile.
