Great Race! Lorenzo puts the hurt on Pedrosa in the final lap. The Doctor third, Nicki fourth, Stoner fifth. Watch replay on SPEED this afternoon. :yahoo:

You should include SPOILER in the sub title so those that haven't seen the race yet can still be surprised by the finish. You won't believe how cranky that makes people :glare:

People even complain bitterly if you post about the race two days later..... they have it on Tivo and they are going to watch it next week, so they're mad that you said anything about it.

Even "Go Yamaha" in the subtitle is too much. I avoided the thread until now, just having finished watching the recording.

About the race: One of the dullest MotoGP races in a while until Lorenzo's move up at the end, which was really nice. Rossi appeared to pretty much let him by for second, with a "You go - I got nuthin'" but Pedrosa put up a good fight for the lead - right up to the point where he outbraked himself. Too bad, so sad. Ducs ain 4th and 5th, with Nicky in front of Casey!

Wonder what happed to Spies's bike? He had a great start, worked up to 5th, then faded quickly after 2 or 3 laps up there. Soup says "mechanical" and the MotoGP site says front tire.

I was planning on it...until Speed pre-empted the race for some crappy truck racing that got delayed. I swear...

...that sucked didn't it? I think the new terminology for this racing is watching skittles go around the bowl! :)

That also cut into the start of the Moto2 race. There was apparently a big crash and a red flag, none of which we got to see. Speed started in at the restart of the shortened race.

That said, what a race it was!!!

Gentlemen, Moto2 is motorcycle racing!!!!

It was a good race. Last 3 laps were worth the price of admission.

Cheers,

W2

And ******** like that are why I no longer discuss racing around here. I swear... they'd go to roadracingworld.com and be pissed that it had race results posted. If there's a race pending that I haven't seen, I don't read racing sites or threads. Some people apparently can't understand and/or apply simple rules like this.

Well, ******** like me would expect to find racing results at a news site, so we'd avoid them. But while browsing a site like this one, with multiple purposes and multiple conversations going on, it's only a simple and widely accepted, even encouraged bit of courtesy to say in the thread title "SPOILER," which means, "Hey, news is in here that if you don't want to see yet, don't open this thread." I can't avoid the whole subforum, I might have a conversation going on in a thread about WSBK or AMA, then find the results of something else in the title of another thread I could have easily avoided had it said "SPOILER."

There's absolutely nothing wrong with discussing the events as soon as they unfold. Post all you want about the race. Start 10 or 12 threads about different classes of racing. Nobody's asking you not to. Just don't discuss it or announce it in the thread title. That's all. Some people apparently can't understand and/or apply simple courtesies like this. Anyone that thinks that request for courtesy makes me an ******* can kiss it. And they might take it up with Warchild as well, who's made the point about spoilers very clear on multiple occasions.

Talk about spoilers...

When Stoner was just starting his winning streak in 2007, our local Ducati dealer would EMAIL the results.

I almost went into the store to get off the mailing list :angry03: :angry03:

Great to see Nicki riding so well this year!

And the Moto 2 race was great, as was the last round of WSK - that second race was just awesome.

Actually I appreciate the spoilers...no cable, internet, or tivo at my casa cuz i'm just too damn poor...really. So I go to a great British Pub to watch but all was pre-empted by nascrap trucks....but the Moto2 race was really really good ! Before i aquired any internet saavy....like i have some now, still dont get out of a shower to pee....anyway I was most exuberant about the first race of 04, this was in the sleazy board daze of yore and noneother than the Warchild chewed my ***, rightly I might add, for posting the results as the headline....so we lives and we learns. I buy the dvds at seasons end and rewatch during winters...good stuff !

Blessings,

Bobby

For the record, I just finished watching the race. Next, I had seen the title of this thread and the entire time I'm watching I'm thinking it's a Yamaha 1/2 finish. I have taken great pains to stay off my own Facebook and half the blogs I wast my bosses money reading. The title didn't spoil the race for me, but as a personal courtesy to me, would you please not give any hints to the end result of a race. MotoGP or WSB.

Now, on to the race. Wow... nice run by Lorenzo! I feared Dani was going to put them both into the gravel on the last couple of laps.

Sure is nice to see Nicky back with the big dogs are the front of the pack. Looks like he's got that Duc sorted out.

Now, on to Speeds coverage. It's better this year by a long shot, but come on. Can't we at least get the post race interviews from the top 3. And why does the Speed announcer have to step all over the world announcer.

As has been said, there's not a damn thing wrong with spoilers in the thread. Just don't put them in the title, and put a warning in the title that the thread has spoilers. You're a perfect example. You want to find this stuff. Me, I DVR the races and it may be 3 or 4 days before I get to watch, what with work, family obigations, Jan watching Dancing with the Stars, whatever. I see a thread title that says "MotoGP spain - SPOILER" I know to wait on that thread. I see a thread title that says "Go Yamaha" I'm thinking "Lorenzo or Rossi? And was it a 1-2?" Which I didn't want to know yet.
