The Saturday deadline came and pretty much is gone now in the parts of the World where Dorna is conducting business....

And it appears that Bridgestone is the only tire company who proposed to supply tires for next year. Michelin appears to have decided to pass on the chance to compete at this level.

Dorna will announce their decision on or before October 18th, but right now it looks like their only choice is to accept the Bridgestone proposal or change the rules and offer a chance to rebid.

Rossi was in favor of having a single tire supplier according to his interviews last week. It appeared that he felt that it would offer a more level playing field with more racers competitive. Stoner thought it was just another point for whining and that if folks couldn't blame their lack of success on their tires, they'd find something else to blame....Stoner should know since his garage mate is on Bridgestones, and they've been like bookends all season, with Stoner toward the front or crashing, and with Melandri toward the back. I wonder how Nicky will handle the bike next year?

I think this sucks, as it's not really the premier class if it's "spec" anything. Part of the job is selecting the right tires, same as like bike setup and engine tweaking. I also think halving the tire allotment from 40 to 15-20 tires is even stupider. It turns picking tires from a championship skill into luck of the draw. My next tire will be a Michelin.

I'll bet next year's races will be boring as hell. Just like NASCAR.
