Can't read it...but I saw the ST1300 in there and any rider that rates that pig higher than the FJR probably prefers wine coolers to beer or straight liquor, likes fat women, never has taken his SUV off road, prefers whacking off over the real thing, hates guns, has gay friends, wears socks with sandals, watches "lifetime" channel...and other equally horrid things.

Snipet:

"Some would say the FJR is "rock solid" and a close second to the Interceptor for overall handling honors. I say they're overlooking quite a bit of the FJR's slower transitional responses, greater weight and much-taller center of gravity."

"Ok, so why am I bagging on the bike that's won every MO Sport Touring comparo that it's participated in? I guess it's because the FJR suffers from appliance-itis. Its engine note is less than inspiring and its over-achieving output simply isn't enough to overcome this inline four's basic lack of character. I'm sorry Yamaha, you make great bikes and the FJR is no exception. But it just doesn't "do it" for me anymore."

Rank:

FJR Last

Interceptor 4th

Buell Ulysses 3rd

ST1300 2nd

R1200RT 1st

Just goes to show you what can happen when asshats who ride motorcycles, get a website and server. It's incredible that they can actually charge for subscriptions.

<_<

Ah, it's just a setup so they can kiss Yamaha's ass in the Spring. 'Oh, WHAT A FRIGGIN IMPROVEMENT! We all have CHUBBIES for this NEW FJR!"

Buell Ulysses over an FJR? :rolf: :haha: :asshat2:

Whew, that's a good one! I've never even heard of their publication.....

I clicked on the above hyperlink...whaddyknow? A advertising banner across the top of their website for...a Buell Ulysses! WHAT a coincidence! <_<

They obviously don't have enough common sense or cajones to put the Buell up against a Multistrada, KTM, V-Strom, etc.

BWAH-HaHaHaHaHa!!!!!!!

This is what I found amusing:

The Winner: BMW R 1200 RT(ABS) $20,720 as tested($17,490 MSRP + $750 ESA, + $1450 Radio/CD, + $215 Trip Computer,

+ $270 Heated Seat, + $50 Oil Level Warning, + $35 Clear Turn Signal Lenses)
A $20k bike beat bikes ranging from $12,490 to $15,099

That's like saying the Chevy Cobalt is nice, but the G35 coupe is a better car....well no shit Sherlock. :p

Opinions on motorcycles are like assholes, everyone has one... it's just that these guy's stink a bit more than most...

...+ $50 Oil Level Warning
Er... say what, now?

You have to pay an additional $50 to have an oil level warning system on the Beemer?!

YGTBSM here.... although it is BMW we're talking about, so... :haha:

I really don't pay attention to these test articles anymore. Whether they rate a bike as #1 of 5 or #5 of 10, or in last place......so what? The FJR suits me just fine. I loved the '04 so much that when the "mishap" occurred I immediately replaced it with and '05. Its the best all-arounder for me. I'm sure the Beemer drivers feel the same as the ST1300 owners who feel the same as the Concours owners who feel the same....ad infinitum, ad nauseum .

It's a little disconcerting that some editors/writers so blatantly grovel before their advertisers, but that's the reality of life we all live with. Let them think what they will. I love the low maintenance costs of my FJR. And yes, I am an FJR poser: I like the style, power and handling, the luggage capacity and the ego gratification it gives me.

Its number 1 with me and with most of you, too. Let these writers print what they want. It was a rather limited test, considering the bikes they left out (or couldn't get to compare with). Compared to what was recently printed in Cycle World..."Duh!"...I wonder who gave a more fair evaluation of real world sports touring?

In their '04 comparo the FJR topped everything and could do no wrong...now itzz 5 outta 5?? HUh?? In '04 no complaints about engine heat, now they do...another huh? I got rid of my '03 because of the engine heat, but other than that, the always droppinn windshield (mildly irritating) and a ride like a buckboard as recieved, which was fixed thanks to lotsa suspension twiddlinn, I found the FJR to be a very comfortable, fast, good handling bike with strong brakes and "character".

I'm sure hoping Yamahaha did "fix" the engine heat problem as my '06 A should be here in March. BTW, I found MO's second place bike to be sooooo purrfect it was a snoozurr...my now gone '04 ST1300, which they now accuse the FJR of being...hhmmmm? DFO <_<
