The tops of the reservoirs seem like logical places to mount farkles. I'm thinking I'll end up with my GPS on one side and maybe a radar detector and/or Spot on the other. Is there anyplace you can buy a replacement cover that has some generic mounting plates, or is taking the OEM cover off and welding some mounts onto it a better possibility? I've seen the mounting setups from RAM that seems to be a possibility but they seem to include those ball mounts which I'm not necessarily in favor of - I'm thinking that some plates that securely fasten on would be more secure long term.

any suggestions?

and you have my apologies if there's already 100 threads about this subject on the forum that I missed in the search......

I do not think I would mount anything on these tops that velcro would not hold, there is sealing to consider. I have my escort on the brake res. top, works well and not much of a load.

The RAM plates do not replace the reservoir lids, they mount on top of them, and they use longer screws in the original holes. The RAM plate clamps the lid down very firmly.

And there are not really many more versatile systems than the RAM stuff.

RAM also makes a ball that fits the unused mirror mount hole on the left bar.
