My 06 has started this new vegas style rolling of the numbers for MPG. The good news is according to my MPG readout I"m getting 99.9 mpg!!!! Take that you tree huggers!! Bad news is it aint pose to be doing that. What the heck is it Anyone had this problem, and if so how did you fix it ?

Thanks guys love you long time

We who ride the "inferior" Gen I FJRs don't have that problem. To figure MPG we must fill the tank and break out the cell phone/calculator.

;)

You're gonna have to unload that blue beast on somebody. Be surprised if you get a thousand bucks for it! :p

Actually, I wonder if you're seeing a ground spider problem or something. Does the fuel gauge behave itself during this?

Actually, that's meaningless. Fuel gauge has nothing to do with mpg calculation. . . . . *** thinking ***

So it's stuck on 99.9? or random numbers rolling around?

'06 was affected by both the ECU recall and the meter recall, if I recall correctly. Have those been done?

None of those have been replaced. However I switched the menu button back and forth a couple of times and the problem went away.... for now..... I'm sure it will NOT return. I am also in denial about my drinking problem. I drink no problem.

Thanks for the reply

The button is just a little bit of copper on some rubbery plastic. My display kept rolling through AVG MPG then TEMP then MPG. Fixed it with a little heat from the wife's hair dryer and light massage. I could actually feel the plastic pop back into place within the rubber.

Did you have the inst cluster replaced by the recall? they had a problem with the "current" MPG display only reading 17 MPG
