Ok I've changed the fluid to synthetic valvoline. Thanks for all the replies.........and a few who have experienced the same thing. I'm quite familiar with front and rear braking, and the 60/40 differential in force.
I've always heard the front/rear ratio is somewhere between 70/30 and 90/10. Giving the rear credit for 40% of your braking might be overstating things a bit.

 
You cooked your brakes. Most important that you didn't freak out and realized what you had to do to be safe.
