The new job requires training. A lot of training. And it's only offered 200+ miles away. Darn my bad luck.

Indian Valley Road, before Peach Tree and 25 kicks in. A nice place to shed some warm gear that was needed while riding the coast.

No hunting. No trespassing. If the eco nazis had their way, the road would be gone too.

Overlooking the miniature grand canyon on Peach Tree road, northbound.

Sucks to be me. Damn my bad luck! After all the heavy OT just worked, it's wonderful to head north and just live the moment.

The companies learning center in San Ramon. Here are two recent graduates. The feller in front made it clear don't get any closer or I'll chomp on you!

Pretty darn nice.

Here's the house I just bought. Ms dCarver loves this area, looks like we're moving in month or so. Not.

Perfect everything. Mercedes, Porches, Jags, store-bought-****s for the ladies and hair implants for the guys.

Here's the road going to our new house.

And the view is pretty good too.

Oh wait, this is the new house. Oh, that's right, this is the rental so all my Feejer Peeps have a place to relax after a long CBA ride. Feel free to stop by anytime.

And I have newly relocated Pacific Northwet neighbors, too. Welcome the Auburn's. You should see the other 4 'Cedes in the garage...

Seriously, this winning the lottery has opened up new financial opportunities.

Everything looks good when wearing rose-colored glasses.

Finally, Mt. Diablo. Stumbled upon this while cruising west on Blackhawk drive, Danville, IIRC, thought I'd see what's up there...

Pretty views, that's what! Lots of bicycles, joggers, hikers, and healthy people.

I didn't go in that afternoon - looking to ride it in the morning.

The road awaits..

Headng back down the hill for food and hotel room. I wonder if it stays green year round? In my hood, Creston, it's already dry and brown.

The little iPhone did OK with picture taking. Some dummy brought a discharged camera and no power supply.

I wish I could say I was serene, at peace with myself, but it's not true. I was thinking of all the complications life brings and wondering how best to handle them instead of living the moment and enjoying to the max. Lessons of life hopefully learned. Looks like I'll need to ride again tomorrow to see if I can improve.

I'm a country boy. Of all the mac-mansions, I like this little log cabin house the best. All other properties are now for sale.

Boys, bad boyz, whatcha gonna do when the come for you?

The Marriot peeps were nice - let me park right up front and under the cover!

Memory test, have you seen this pix before? The new day has broken and I'm off to wander.

At the summit, clouds. Can't have it all I guess. Will go back another day - more training in the future!

The rooftop observatory is closed for repair.

Evidently, the red man lived in peace and harmony for ions the the white man can and ****** it all up.

Meet my new best buds. All local peeps, out for a day ride. You would have thought we'd known each other for years. The conversation was so good I stayed waaaay too long. The guy in the blue hat is heading to Alaska in July.

Way cool sign. Wish I could have seen what is supposedly out there..

Solo rider. Me likee this pix.

As it turns out, I would see these guys again - we ran a circular route in opposing directions.

So then, I kinda screwed up. I had posted on the FjrForum.com looking for route advice, and the divine Ms. T replied with what looked to be wonderful route. Of course, I didn't print it out and the iPad had no coverage or was just generally throwing a hissy fit so I just winged it. Missed the bitchenest route, but as is the ride was still stellar.

Descending, heading towards the north entrance.

Had to get a shot of the Kali Poppies.

The entire bay area, while only 225 miles north of me, is something I'd not explored. Too many peeps wearing birkenstockers and smoking wacky tabakkie,<edited out, voluntarily>happens!

The start of Morgan Territory Road. It's a nice little slow speed goat trail with fantastic views.

For reference, we're just south of Clayton on the squiggly yellow line.

And, finally, a view with no houses in the backgound.

And here's why - it's a preserved area. Maybe Al Gore and the eco-Nazis have it right, after all?

Riders heading up the hill. I was idling and coasting in neutral... and hauling Ashe!

Spectacular was to spend a day. Unlike yesterday, I'm taking my time, living the moment. I'll get home when I get home. I have headlights. I have a GPS. I just won the lottery and I have 3 new houses in Danville, Blackhawk, San Ramon. All is good!

New signs seen today - Alameda, Concorde, Clayton. It's all good stuff! The rest of the ride was slab - no pix. All in all, a great way to drink the corporate kool-aid.

Thanks looking, have a great CBA day!

That iPhone of yours takes great pictures! Good ride and good times. I have to make it to Diablo summit myself someday, I have rode the roads around it, but not been to the summit yet.

Also, next time you are up in the bay area for training . Maybe stay the weekend?

Love the pics and reports, as usual! CBA Pres. indeed and well deserved! Looks like a wealth of wandering roads to choose from.

Three of the five cars out front have issues, so I've been under the hood all week. At this point, a similar ride might be just what I need to start making better progress. Thanks for the inspiration!

The San Ramon Learning Center, used to be called the Feeding Center, Been there too damn many times.

On a clear day, from Mt Diablo, you should be able to see Mt Shasta IIRC.

Thanks for the ride report!

Yes. Three 1-week sessions soon. Will be riding every day after. And staying for the Friday 'off-day'. Sam, would like to ride with you.

Don, thanks for the trip report. Next time, be sure to try out Mt Hamilton. Lots of fun there too. Damn I do miss this place.

Count me in and if one weekend you want to ride the Gold country, ride on over to Folsom and you are welcome to stay at my humble abode. I have space in the garage and a guest room although only an air bed in there right now, but you would have your own bathroom as well.

Just give me enough notice, so I don't promise it out to other visiting friends...
