Maybe we wre just lucky. FR 30 was pretty fresh and the stones were sharp. One of the rock "chips" punctured Greg's (50 GTT) new rear tire. But as I remember, FR 25 up the mountain wasn't that bad. We were riding a little, uhm, er, spirited, and I only noticed a couple of bad places, but they weren't hidden, so plenty of time to be aware and take corrective precaution.
