Whoa! You saw the abdominal snowman?!?!

Whoa! You saw the abdominal snowman?!?!
Not at that point. About 1 hr later, after the wicked steep climb up the stairs and the altitude caught up with Jeff, we met the ABDOMINAL Asheman. FEED ME. FEED ME. We headed straight down hill toward Gorham for the first food establishment that didn’t have a FDA warning sign ;)

Great pics and report. Mt Washington is one of my favorite hikes. I have never ridden on the auto road and always wondered what it looked like.

Nice pictures and write ups. Thanks. Now you made me homesick.

Wait... I'm just a hop, skip and a jump to home from Golden! Hmmmm. I may have to rethink my routing back to Santa Babs.

Nah, I'd have to go through New York instead of over it.

Wow! When I was a kid spending the summer at Camp Mendota in Maine, a bunch of us got to climb Mt. Washington. Thanks for for sharing.

Great report and pictures. Now, to see who's the real man, show us how to ride up the mountain in January!
This is how it's done in January:

If you look at some of the pictures that show the road you will see grooving in the pavement that *just happens* to match the treads on this beast.

I took another look through the pictures we took Saturday on Mt. Washington. I don't know how I missed this one. :unknw:

Jeff musta snuck up the mountain and planted this while we weren't lookin'

Now, that just pulls on my Selma Alabama roots. Sniff! :)

Great PhotoChop job, should do Jeff proud.

(Also like what you did with your avatar Ed!)

Hello All, and thanks for the great pics and comments. We just returned home this morning around 01:00. Braved the dark of night and the rush of Bambi, to finish out 300 miles from Grumpy's house. The front tire was well below wear bars in Lewisburg WV, so we made a slight change of course and stole a new Michelin PR2 from Grumpy along the way. :)

We have about 200 photos and some pretty cool video of Niagara Falls etc. to sort through, so I won't bother posting pics just yet. Give us a day to unpack, sleep and drink, and then we'll post something more organized.

Again, a BIG THANK YOU to MartyA, Sally, FJRed, Grace, Ionbeam, Helen, Spklbuk, Grumpy and SnowWhite for making an awesome trip... simply MAGNIFICENT!!!

Glad you had a good trip and made it home safely, Jeff! Looking forward to meeting you at EOM. Wish I could've made the ride to MT Washington with you, have done it twice and is always a great ride.

Good deal! Glad you guys are home safe. Will be talking with you soon, Heidi

Glad to hear you and Karen made it home safe. Grace and I had a great time riding with you guys. Hopefully we'll have the opportunity to do it again someday.

Can't wait to see your pictures.

Ed.
