Pedrosa ran away from Lorenzo. Nicky crashed.. what's up with him? Spies looked a little tentative. Boring a little without a certain Italian running, but some nice racing between 2-3 and 4-5-6....

I don't think anyone can avoid a front end slideout like Nicky's. Too bad. He was in it. Spies kept going backwards more than forward. Edwards kept on going back, too. Wayyyy back. Mechanical failure?

Nicky lost the front end just like Casey has in 2 of the 3 previous races. Really nothing special, not pushing too hard, and the front just tucks in. I really think Ducatti have been overtaken by others in the development. Casey even reverted to last years forks to try and get more front-end feel. This years setup was giving him no feedback or feel when he was near the limit - now it fine, now you're in the gravel.

If it wasn't for the short race between 2 & 3, and then 4, 5 & 6 there would have been no reason to watch the race.

All the announcers mentioned was that Edwards must have had major problems to be running 20+ seconds behind. They mentioned Spies hasn't been the same since his fall a few races ago. I hope he gets his confidence back -- if that is what it is.

I still keep waiting for Nicky to do something. He was in the second row but off the Start was in 8th or something. Everybody goes down but Nicky just hasn't been the same for a few years now.

Several times Spies has been up front in the first two laps, then drops back to mid-pack. I've not seen if his times drop or if the others get quicker, or some of both.

Fixing to look at the Moto2 race, where all the action has been all year.

EDIT: Those of you not bothering with Moto2 for whatever reason are missing everything!!!!!

Moto 2 - I haven't watched it yet, but have it recorded. Last round there was only 1.3 seconds covering the first 27 riders, this time there was less than 1.5 sec between pole and p28! Great fun to watch.

Moto 2, other than the 1st place guy, was crazy!
On Charter Cable Moto2 was played before MotoGP. Wild race and fun to watch but I don't recognize many of the names.
Several of the riders are folks who did not get signed for renewals in Moto GP. Talmacsi, Elias, DeAngelis, probably some others. Elias has been doing well, as has Talmacsi. Some of these guys tended to ride at the end of the pack in MotoGP, but they've found a good spot in Moto2.

Personally, I'm more interested in the high technology of the premiere class. Moto 2 looks like a mighty congested field to me.

Still, I understand why some folks like it. With Rossi out of MotoGP for a while, Moto2 may come into its own.

Valentino's get off was nasty.. Nicky .. it happens . .luckily he's ok . It's good to see Danny Pedrosa having such a great race

They had a better look at Rossi's off, and I agree that it appears to be rear loosing and biting and snapping him off in a bronco buck. What a mess. Thats just too fast for a crash. Reminds me of John Hopkins.... why isn't he in Moto 2 incidentally? Where did he end up. I don't hear his name when watching any of the various series.

Hopper returned to superbike in the u.s and I do believe he may have injured himself again (wrist)

he rides for the M4 Monster Energy.

I went to his web page, and the last entries in his blog were from a year ago.

I went to Wikipedia and it said he had returned to AMA superbike, and that he was riding for Suzuki. If he is, he's wearing his invisibility cloak. Oh yeah, that was Potter, not Hopper.

I dunno... the guy seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth.

Meanwhile, Rossi had the surgery to close the wound today. They're using publicity photos that do not include the new haircut. If he were using current photos, people would think he'd had a head injury and that they'd had to shave right and left of center.

He seems to be doing OK... at least as far as can be told at this point. The Fibula fracture doesn't appear in any of the official reports. The only break discussed is the break of the Tibia.

Lorenzo was angry when Pedrosa beat him out because he had a big "Rossi dedication/celebration" planned if he's won the race. He had to settle for dedicating his podium. Sigh.....

On to Silverstone in two weeks.
