Yes, but his permanent residence is Las Vegas, NV. I too hopes he get to ride the Moto GP. Good for the "Old Guy"! :clapping:"Better American candidates"...................The last time I checked, he is from Canada. He deserves it.
Canadian FJR
My appologies I thought he was American. He obviously has a following over there, I only judge him from his recent outings and know how long he has been around. My comment was meant that a younger rider might have been a better choice."Better American candidates"...................The last time I checked, he is from Canada. He deserves it.
I think its more of the fact that he's a Honda rider and he has a lot more experience on that track than Neil. Besides...Neil has a couple other possible rides lined up, right? That would be interesting. The word around the BSB round last weekend was that Neil Hodgeson was short-listed for it. Not seen anything in print to that effect although it did come from someone fairly high up the roumor ladder.I can think of better American candidates than Du Hamel.
Keep in mind - this isn't a goodwill gesture. There's an open spot due to an injury. Now is Suzuki would step up and give Mladin a ride at Laguna, that would be good. How many titles has he won for Suzuki?
Yep, and they'll want a "journeyman" rider who knows the course and the company. He's likely the "safe bet" to finish well for the team. Not a bad place to be for either side.Keep in mind - this isn't a goodwill gesture. There's an open spot due to an injury.
Hodge is being linked with all sorts of rides here. Lots of speculation. He was doing some testing on the BSB Rizla Suzukis last week purely as a one off to try and cure some problems that they were truggling with. It was rife that he was going to ride Chris Walkers bike at Knock Hill and that Walker was fired. All baloney.I think its more of the fact that he's a Honda rider and he has a lot more experience on that track than Neil. He's 39... born 26th of May, 1968. The guy is in great shape.Just curious guys: How old is Duhamel? He's probably younger than me at my 45 (looks older than me though), but at what age does it stop making sense taking those kinds of risks? Who's the oldest person to ever race MotoGP? Don't get me wrong; I like the guy, but it gets to a point we have to lower the risks we take, that's all.
