Well now that I have two BBG Trifectas under my belt, I have been given clearance for bigger rides.

I am headed to the IBR finish/Finisher's Banquet and have decided to do another multi BBG ride. I have

just started planning and do not have much time. Thus I could use some help…

Problem #1

Mileage

* On the recent BBG Trifecta I had way too much overkill mileage (To be safe)

Between the 3 BBGs, I had close to 100 extra miles. I know that sounds trivial, but it equates to lost sleep.

I saw the Deca was done with (IIRC) 94 extra total miles in 10 BBGs - Now that is excellent planning! So I have found

a potential starting location. I plan to ride a round trip route and use the same motel to cut down on wasted check-in time.

Fuel is at a turn around point: "My Route Online" Route Planner - Find the Best Route with our Multi Stop Route Planner | MyRouteOnline 753.39 miles

"Google Maps" 753 miles

Zumo 550 755 miles

Zumo 595 754 miles

The Start to Turn around:

<iframe src="https://www.google.com/maps/embed?pb=!1m34!1m12!1m3!1d353.58860007308215!2d-106.76983929800316!3d44.84786334249565!2m3!1f0!2f0!3f0!3m2!1i1024!2i768!4f13.1!4m19!3e0!4m5!1s0x87894ad767265429%3A0x471450add1e4f5ed!2s5100+N+Cliff+Ave%2C+Sioux+Falls%2C+SD+57104!3m2!1d43.603333!2d-96.7104683!4m5!1s0x533577f412d410b9%3A0x2653a8b47031c0f3!2s199+US-16%2C+Buffalo%2C+WY+82834!3m2!1d44.3566994!2d-106.65995459999999!4m5!1s0x5348b003d35de981%3A0xf059b1a7e20ab5b2!2s602+E+8th+Ave%2C+Columbus%2C+MT!3m2!1d45.6444939!2d-109.24722899999999!5e0!3m2!1sen!2sus!4v1497302427483" width="800" height="600" frameborder="0" style="border:0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I would appreciate others input on this; such as mileage according to mapping programs, opinions/knowledge on this route route…

and note: I have2 more fuel stops to add yet that may pad the mileage by a very small amount.

The next fuel on I-90 would tack on 70 or so round trip miles, that is an hour of sleep everyday.

Problem #2

Sleep: I rode close to 64 of 70 hours on the trifecta and sustaining safe riding on that amount for a longer amount of time is not gonna work.

Steps I have taken to help: * I am using a base motel - so I will not have to deal with wasting time checking in.

* I have chosen a route that has an 80 mph speed limit for most of the miles.

* I need faster fuel stops

* I have very few populated areas to worry about

* I am planning a start time that will give me riding west when the sun is in the east and turning around with a high sun

and riding east when the sun is in the west.

Any other suggestions?

Problem #3

Diet: I had major issues with my eating/drinking on the Trifecta.

Steps I have taken to help: *Subway is located near the Start/Finish

*Having the same Motel will allow me to keep gear/food so the bike will only have a daily supply

*I will not be carrying my wife's gear, so I should have more storage space.

*Acid reducer in tank bag (LOL)

Any and all suggestions/comments are welcomed.

Oh… the ride? Either a "BBG Quattro" or a new ride "BBG Cinco"

Hey Tony!! Looking forward to seeing you at the finish of the IBR.

I'm very familiar with your proposed route as a matter of fact I started a BBG from that very spot in Sioux Falls. Everything you've said about the route is true, higher speed limits, lighter traffic, fewer populated areas makes a good efficient route.

I started my BBG at the BP gas station right next to the Econo-Lodge you've got referenced, the pumps are 24 hours but when I was there it was not staffed 24 hours. The pump I used was out of paper and no attendant available

the ATM there did provide the necessary documentation. The other documentation issue you could have is that Holiday gas stations, one is just down the block, usually have a store number but no city on the receipt. Checking or testing receipts before your start as always is a good idea but you knew that

Hey Rick !

I haven't heard from you in awhile. You must have gotten tired of all my questions.

It will be great to see you at the finish. I am hoping to see D.D. there too (?)

There is a LOVES 24 hour station with a SUBWAY inside right across the street now! I am trying to get conformation on the route mileage.

I will be starting the ride Sunday morning at 4 am. The way it looks now, I will be attempting BBGs out of there Su, Mo, Tu, We and maybe Th mornings.

I need to head out to Washington state for a trailer pick up Friday night.

Hi Tony,

May I recommend calling to ensure your base hotel has a small mini-fridge (most all of them do now). Hit a grocery store before your ride, and pack that fridge with 4-5 days of food so you can re-stock your bike each day quickly before you take off. Eat the perishable food early so it doesn't spoil in the heat on the road.

I've been to those same Subways at Love's truck stops and they can have really long lines with truckers waiting to get a sub made (20-30 minutes shot right there).

Very best of luck with however many BBG's you're doing this time.
