Music, what is in your MP3 while riding?

Since I got XM, I don't rely too much on the ipod. But, when I need a fix, i usually pick one of the following:

I've had XM since 02' and just got my first Ipod.

On the XM I listen to 13 most of the time but also listen to 10,40,46,70,74 and sometimes 163 & 164.

I have loaded on my new Ipod..................

What, no Boxcar Willy biggrin.gif
Yes I do have Boxcar Willie! :p

As well as:

.38 Special

The Allman Bros.

Andrew Lloyod Webber

Anne Murry

Asleep at the Wheel

Bach

Bad Co.

The Beach Boys

The Beatles

Benny Goodman

Berlin

Billy Holiday

Blue Oyster Cult

Bob Seger

Bob Wills

Bobby Bare

Boston

Brenda Lee.......

On through Chopin, Chris LeDoux, Hank Williams, Hank Williams Jr, Hank Williams III to ZZ Top.

You could say my tastes are a little eclectic.

If you have seen my moto flicks, that would be a start to knowing what is in my Ipod....

But mostly 80's and Rock

JD

I can't believe out of all you dinosaurs :p , I see only Rogue listens to Boston. That stuff is about 1/2 a generation ahead of me, but I've been on a Boston kick for the last several weeks - can't get enough of "Rock and Roll Band" for some reason lately.

I had a co-worker / friend give me a 130 GB hard drive full of music to copy. It's amazing... 30,000+ songs from all genres including all the classic rock I'd ever want... like drinking from a fire-hose.

I listen to music on my treo and find that what I'm listening to really effects how I ride. Some songs (like the Mission Impossible theme song for example) just make you want to get on the throttle while others encourage you to ride mellow. Last month, while listening to some mellow Billy Joel ("Honesty"), I started dancing the bike by swaying back and forth slowly to the music on a long straight section with no traffic around.

+ 1 on sharing... just PM me and I'll probably have any mainstream music that you might be seeking. I have found that an easy way to share music with friends (short of copying the drive to another) is by burning DVD's. They hold 4.7 GB each.

There is a website called slickdeals.net that lets you know about great deals on all kinds of things and from all kinds of websites and stores. Almost every week you can find the little memory cards for just a few bucks or even free after rebates so I just buy them all the time so that I can have a ton of music (or even audio books) available depending on my mood.

The only song that I have actually pulled over to skip is The Doors "The End" ... freaks me out to listen to that song while riding.

Nobody listens to Zeppelin, anymore? Sheesh
Oh, yeah! Zeppelin is on the MP3, as well as Pink Floyd. Now that is some good (&^%(^(@!
Oh yeah Scab, I like you already w/o knowing you. Zep & Floyd... Those are two of my all time favorite tune-meisters. Dark Side of the Moon... I remember being a yungun & my bro used to listen to them. I traded him a Boston 8 Track for his 8 track of DSOTM.

Many good memories listening to Dark Side of the Moon.

2800 on my i river . hatebreed , atreyu, ac dc , beck, buthole surfers, clutch, clASH . deadmilkmen , fireball, fu manchu, fugazi, L7 , the donnas , ministry , pantera, pro pain, prong , rage against the machine , black sabbath , talking heads, ramones , rammstein, kid rock, chemical brothers, richard hell, black sheep , godfathers, snot, static x, system of a down , zepplin, sucidal tendencies, sepulyure . etc.

Now here's a suggestion from a she rider......I think you should have all types of music in your MP3 seeing that riding can alter any type of mood you're in. example: If crappy mood..listen to some kick someone's a-- music(just don't drive like a bat out of H---). If in a good mood...Listen to some (I don't know),,,,,,,,"It's a Sun Shiny Day" or something. know hat I mean? Strange suggestion, I know, but it works.

Like sitting in a college dorm, watching the waist-high stack of empty beer cans start buzzing between the speakers? The wall would usually collapse when the alarm clocks went off. :)

Got 'em both on the Inno, but with the XM I do have to say that I listen to the stored music a lot less.
