27 Years after they last raced there with Mike Hailwood and Giacomo Agostini they are back with a bang. In the centenary year of the TT, Martin Finnegan is lying 3rd after Thursdays practice after putting in a 124.2mph lap. (In the superstock class......road trim).

Thats average speed dont forget over a 37.7 mile road course.

The superbikes are expected to top the 130mph lap record this year.

That doesn't sound like a big deal - until you look at the course, and then it's INSANE to average that kind of speed.

Jill

over 200mph in places

John McGuiness is on fire again 11 wins to date. Favourite to break the 130mph barrier.

BUT......in the BSB superstock class he can't stay with our Howie!

It's on for an hour every night here through the TT 2 weeks

Got any travel tips on a couple of wanna be spectators? Thinking of using some frequent flyer miles next summer to the IOM.

Thanks and enjoy the races.

Hi CAJW

There is a thread on here from a couple a of months ago about the same thing. Shouldnt be too hard to find it will be in the racing section. You ned to book accomodation well in advance if you want something decent. This year is the centenery so the whole Island is booked solid and was from this time last year. I suggest with all the extra interest this year that next year will be mad as well. You need to be looking at making bookings for acoomodation and the ferry a year in advance so get busy now!

I think one of the guys on the other thread flew into London and hired a bike, then traveled up and got the ferry across. You can take part in ''mad Sunday'' if you do that. Whilst the roads are open to the public, they make the circuit one way for a day and remove the speed limits. Mad is the word!!
