My FeeJ bit me

First of all, let me say that I share your pain (differently). Mine began to fall to the right on a slanted parking spot and I wrestled it upright, but blew out my right bicep tendon in the process. The Doc used a titanium screw to re-attach the stub to my upper arm bone. Six weeks in a sling for that one. Cost the insurance company over $21K. Next time I'll let the bike drop.

I have had major troubles getting my Feej up on the center stand too and mine isn't lowered - I know what you mean. I'm 5' 8" and weigh 165, so my weight alone won't get it. Even with the leverage of the center stand design, my 165 lb won't compete with the bike's 650 lb. I have to pull up hard on the handle to get it over center. I have a lowered KLR650 too and even WITH the center stand for a lowered bike it is almost impossible for me.

My trick: a six inch long piece of 2X6. I carry one with each bike EVERYWHERE.

Park it on the side stand, place the 2X6 in front of the rear tire, then get back on the bike and gently roll the rear tire up onto the 2X6, re-set the side stand and THEN put it up on the center stand.

That extra 1.5" works wonders! Makes it so much easier on the back.

Having said that, weighing only 165 is like having an extra 5-10 HP on acceleration!

Anyway, heal up fast and be careful.

I had a FJ1200 '86 when I wanted it on the center stand it just jumped right on up there.

I have an '04 FJRABS, I'm 6 foot, 195 pounds and its a fight to get on the center stand every time.

You would think Yamaha could have done their homework when placing the centerstand and its leverage factors.

Never have had a BMW, but I'm informed they are so balanced on the stand they can rock from front to back wheel with a finger pressure, and they practically leap onto the center stand.

maybe you could call sally fields to come over and help you get it on the center stand........jk.
 I missed it....right over my head. Does Sally ride a FeeJ or something?
Nope....tiny, older and female.

I suppose you could let dj bill demonstrate the proper method using YOUR bike. ;)
But she has strong bones thanks to Boniva, right?

thanks for pointing out my ill recieved attempt at humor.

Another option might be a rear axle lift thing like you see all the squids propping their bikes up with. Should lift the rear up a bit and hold it level and steady. Might be easier to work with as you could simply press down with your leg to get the bike up. Of course, you'll need some to hold the darn bike up, I guess, so maybe this idea sucks after all!
Block and tackle strung from ceiling?

Maybe build a small dry dock around it in the garage?
I have a set of front/rear track stands that would probably work. The front traps the end of the fork and lifts it from there. The rear relies on spools which there is nowhere to mount those on the FJR and it's shaft drive but I think I have some paddle type connectors that cradle the axle nuts and lift from that point. Gonna check that option out, too.

Heal quickly!

I do the rocking thing, compressing the fork with a three count, then pulling back. As mentioned above, I think being 6'3" helps a fair bit.

A trick I use to add clearance to help get the wheels off is to put the CS on a wood board to raise it up. To do it, I roll the back wheel onto a piece of board then use the CS on it's board. I think it would help for lowered bikes.
