Thought you might find these pics of my XJR 1300 (modified) interesting. For some reason this is not a model you get in North America. Its engin is from the air cooled FJ1200, bored out to 1252cc.

Your XJR is a good looking bike.... I've always liked them. They have them here, and in a 400cc version as well (for the middle-license).

Hmm, I guess they only sold the XJR in countries where they drive on the wrong side of the road. Last time I was down under, I rode this red one and remembered loving it. Actually, it's my avatar pic, only because I though parking on the wrong side of the road in front of a kangaroo crossing was just too cool. (and we think forest rats are bad?)

That was a great ride. my buddy & I rode the "Great Ocean road" which is legendary, and also got shown some sweet backroads.

Thanks all for the comments.

The one LesKid is on is standard. The external changes on mine are firstly the seat, most important. Being on the large side I have changed the bars for Renthals, they are a little wider and straighter than standard. The rear shocks have been uprated to fully adjustable Ohlins, worth every penny, plus braided hoses and a hugger.

Internally the air box has been slightly changed and a less restrictive K&N fitted. The restrictive manifold inlet rubbers have been replaced with ones from an FJ1200. The exhaust replaced with a Remus 4 into 1 with removable baffle. And finally a Barnett clutch to cope with the extra 20 bhp increase over the standard 105.

They have a simmilar top speed, around 145, but the XJR is comfortable upto 120, then wind resistance gets in the way. But it is very quick, 0 to 60 in under 4.5 seconds. I have yet to take the FJR past 135, but the screen is very effective.

I use the XJR for my daily commute as at only lb500, it is far more manouverable through London traffic.

As for Gemma, she is a lb90 Swiss mountain dog and I don't think anyone makes a pannier large enough to put her in :D

Nice looking bike ,,,, a 400 cc version that colin spoke of would be a nice starter bike for here in the states..

I always liked the XJR and wanted one since the day they came out. Unfortunately, can't get them here in the states.
