Just met up with FJRPierre and got him pointed in the right direction. I noticed he winced every time he looked at my bike. So nice of him not to point and laugh. Rode with him for a couple hundred clicks. It's got a nice patina of bug guts on it now.

MAN. That was close.

Drink a bunch o beer then pee on it.

Immediately throw copious quantities of dirt on it.

Don't ask what stage 2 instructions are, just sayin'!

Good post. My bike stays dirty and a bit scuffed. It performs just as well as a clean one. And I don't feel guilty at all about leaving it dirty.

Throw some bugs at the windshield and kick the bags a few times with your boots.

Yesterday I washed my bike, shined the pipes, used meguiar's paint cleaner and wax. I've had several oohs and aahs and noticed the female gender gawking at it. What you call a gay bike I call a chick magnet. I keep my bike clean and proud of such.

When I take my 4runner up in the mountains and the mud, dirt, snow, and stream water gets stuck on it then I leave it on there for weeks before washing.

Maybe I need therapy...

Nice guy Steve but as soon as the ride got dusty he stopped suddenly, and said " the twisties really start about 20 clicks from here but we can't go there today...."...

Ha ha ha hja ha he got you pegged Steve.

I like clean and shiny bikes. I just don't happen to own one.
Maybe barb will wax mine during dinner, so when I come out to the parking lot, it will be ready for me. :clapping:
oh, I'll do something to your bike during dinner honey... ;) :evilsmiley:  , likely won't have sh#t to do with how clean it is tho...*shrug*
Great...I can say that my bike was caressed and waxed by barb. I will feel so dirty inside.

I finally broke down and washed, and waxed my bike. First wax job since just before EOM last year. It looks... looks.. GHEY!
My neighbor took one look at it and said 'new bike? Looks like it used to be owned by a limp wristed, poodle walkin', mint muchin', meat whistle tuning he man!"

Wait, it gets worse, BugR and the ever lovely wifey are supposed to show up here today, worse still, FJRPierre should be here within the hour. I don't want any French Canadian, Ottawa dwelling type guys gettin' all a-swoon over it!

So my question is, how do it get it lookin' back to all hardcore road warrior'ish before anybody shows up?
You could trade with me! Mine's COATED with bugs - 1750km since yesterday morning. Heading into the rain (which should clean me up) tomorrow for Day 3 of CFR trip!!

Hey! Notice the gravel, I was TRYING to dirty it up again.

Great meeting you Pierre, Rob and Diana rolled in here around 11. But I leave that for that story for them to tell. Just drove them back to their hotel room (its 1:30am) after a late BBQ 'n beers.

Ride Safe bud, see you 2 weeks!

1750 in two days?! You animal Mary Ellen! My logic for waxing it was it'll make the bug spooge come off easier later. But man, what I had to endure until it gets all grody again...

Ride safe. See ya soon!
