affecting my bike since I often ride up and down from sea level to a couple thousand feet. I would eventually like a PCIII, but they are expensive and I've about drained the bank getting this bike setup to my liking :dribble:

When I got my '07 (left over) in May, I made sure the ECU was swapped before I took delivery. It's being from sea level to 14,130 and numerous times since about 7,000 with no hiccups.

Hi Jen,

I would think that a dealer would swap out that ecu for you,as well as upgrade the rack on the back at no charge since there was a service bulletin on both issues. The previous owner should be able to tell you if they were completed. Worth a try anyway.

I did not know about the rack issue. Could you point me to some info on it? I've already tried searching the interweb and here with no results

Is the picture underexposed or did they stop putting a decal on the lower fairing?

I checked. They stopped. I like that clean look. Beautiful color!

I just picked her up today :yahoo:

Ain't she pretty? :D

The bike had 12K but was very well taken care of. Looks like it came right out of the showroom!

I really enjoyed the ride home but a couple of bothersome things I noticed were the throttle was very different from any other bike I've owned. It tended to lunge a lot between shifts and the throttle switch seemed hard to turn. Besides getting used to that different throttle response, I like it :) :)

You'll never completely fix the throttle issue , but the recommendations will definitly help. Yamaha screwed up the shape of the throttle body on the 2006 and 2007 models. they changed them from round to oval. You know its a screw up when 2 years later they change it back to the way it was. they should have recalled the bike for the issue. I doubled whammied this issue and used a g2 along with the "Fred H" fix. The result was pretty darn good (not stellar, but as close as i can get it). its simply one of the nuances of that model (along with the buzz from the bars and pegs at certain speeds).

Wish i could say otherwise, but it is what it is.

Hey Jen,

All the dealers will know about the fix. There is a plate they install under the existing rack to make it stronger for the top box. Just takes a few minutes to install. When I picked my bike up I made sure that both were done. The throttle had a bit of a lag if you backed off, then applied a lot of throttle. After the G2 it is as smooth as my 2005 was and I think a nicer machine over all.
