Will always be FJR rider at heart
My new (to me) FJR arrived last week, now I feel like a REAL member of this forum. It arrived after a long wait of 20 days, since it went from Texas to Milwaukie first (shippers headquarters), and then out to the West Coast. The driver had a bunch of bikes to deliver all over the PNW before he could get mine out of the trailer. As you can see on the pictures it was cold and wet when it arrived that night.
It seems to have arrived without any shipping damage, and in the meantime (after these two pics where taken) I detailed it and put it into the garage. It cleaned up VERY nicely, including a quick leather restore of the Corbin seat which had a couple of rubbed through white spots on it. I don't have our nice camera right now, so it may be a few days before I can take pictures of the bike again.
Richard (tripletango), the previous owner, is coming back from Honduras for a visit to Texas at the end of January, where the title is waiting now for him to sign over to me, plus he will pull a bunch of accessories out of storage and send a care package my way. It's hard to have to wait until February before I can ride the bike, but I really only feel gratitude towards Richard for being very generous when selling me this beautiful M/C in the first place. The Texas plates on the bike are expired, so I don't even want to take the bike for a short ride, since we have lots of cops cruising up and down the main rode I have to go to get anywhere. The first real ride I'll be able to take will be sooo much sweeter after the wait!
When my wife saw the bike after it was delivered, walking up to it with the kids in tow, the first words out of her mouth were "Honey, this bike is just BIG-***". Too funny, since she usually would never dream of using the word "***" in front of our young kids..hehehe.. After that she immediately coined the term "Babe" for my FJR, short for "Big-***-Bike-Extraordinaire". Well, my FJR is now my OTHER Babe  Thanks honey!
