Gotta be quick...community PC in the lobby of the Best Western in Clovis, CA...

1. Lee Vining only has two places to eat.

2. Mono lake is huge (and cold)

3. Tioga pass is cold as hell at 7am

4. Yosemite rocks

5. Highway 120 east of 395 is a freakin' roller-coaster that MUST be ridden

6. Toecutter and Mrs. Toecutter are great chaufers (Thanks ya'll, the pizza was great)

7. Riding with a 10 year old gives new meaning to "long day on the bike"

8. I'm never going home

9. I need a job where I can ride more and work less (don't we all)

10. My new Pazzo (color, GAY) levers kick ***.

More when I get home to my own PC.

FJR folks really are the best.

P.S. No spell check in this public PC...don't flame me.

I'd like too, but we have reservations tomorrow night in Kernville. Then we're likely to head back home for a couple days of kicking back before returning to the routine next week. I'll take a raincheck though. Thanks for the offer.

120 between 395 and Benton????? Bin there and done that and want to do it again. OH Yea
:dntknw: Uhhhh....no. I don't know what you're uhhh...talking about....errr, uhhh...refering to.

I didn't ride any such secret roller coaster road in that uhhh....area....or anything like uhhh, that.

:dntknw: :innocent: :whistling: :winksmiley02: :worriedsmiley:

are u back home yet? how much fun was it? did Nick have fun too? pics dude! ride report!!!

GunMD,What route did you take to arrive at Hwy 120 from the East/ WFO-6 and how was the heat factor?

WW's FJR
Actually I didn't come in on 120 from the East. I was staying in Lee Vining on 395 and while heading to the Tufa Towers on the south shore of Mono Lake (tourist stuff w/ my kid) I enjoyed the 3 or 4 mile jaunt onto 120 heading east from 395. After completing the obligatory tourist stops on the south shore I decided to check out 120 by traveling a bit farther to the east. WOW. 'Nuff said. (And I only went about 12 miles to the east of my original turn-off.)

Just rolled in a few hours ago. Been trying to get the motivation for a ride report...don't hold yer breath. But yes, we had fun. Nick was a real trooper. At least one day was a pretty long day in the saddle and I was beat. I know he was hurtin' but he didn't complain...ever...not even once.

GunMD,

I have been reading all these great ride reports from the WFO-6

and I know the broiler is usually left ON....... East of 395.

I never realized there would be so many varied ride opportunities to

get to Park City and then back to So Cal.

This wasn't actually my return from WFO. I slabbed it home as I was tired and uhhh...a bit dehydrated. :dntknw: This was my annual week-ish long trip with my son. I really do plan to do a report (it may be just bullets and pictures), but not until probably Monday at the earliest.

Yep, there are not many "restaurants" in Lee Vining. You DID eat at the Whoa Nellie Deli, didn't you?!?!?!
Funny thing....I pulled into the parking lot, saw the stuff that folks were bringing out to the outdoor eating area and decided to skip it. Sounds like I made big mistake.

Don't worry, I met him last weekend. His son's a good kid.... must be from his mom's side. :p
Oh sheesh, don't even get me started...

Oh, uh...the ride. Yeah, sure.

My little mile-eater:
