Well, as many of you know, I had a heart attack Febuary 12th, And a 5 way heart bypass on the 22nd...

I was employed as a truck driver before this all happend, And i have not been to work since. The DOT said i had to have a minimum of 90 days off work from the last surgery, which was May 23rd. I should have been able to return then, But i needed an Echo-Cardiogram to determine the ejection fraction of my heart. The DOT requires that it be 40% or higher to return to driving. So i scheduled an appt with the cardiologist on wednesday, And i called to get the results today, And my ejection is 63%!!!! :clapping:

I should return to work on tuesday! :)

Adam - congratulations. Glad to see everything is going well for you. Now maybe you can afford some self-control lessons to get that throttle hand a little better under control. It seems to run away from you. lol

Now you'll have to get a KLR and join Smitty and join us for a dirt road foray down there in Hooterville country someday for a little change of pace. Hope to see you this fall.

Chester

GB,

I didn't know you had a heart attack, but I am glad you survived it and things are coming back together for you. How old were you when this happened? Any family history?

I don't know what my ejection % is, but it produced three kids

Glad you back on the road (or soon to be)

I was 33,

And i am doomed on both sides in the history dept.

I was not helping things any with the sedative lifestyle i had...

I smoked (but quit),

Drank Red Bulls(quit those too)

Ate micky D's dollar menu almost every night(cut back alot and eating more chicken!)

And i didnt excersize at all...

Now i take 2 mile walks 3 times a week and eating more veggies and shedding some weight.

Seeing people DOUBLE my age with the same condition really bothered me and i am trying to make this go 'round a better one.

Here is a couple threads that you might have missed

The first thread

Glad things are working out for you. It's said often, but things happen for a reason. Best of luck in your continuing recovery, & hope you can still make it to the big party.

Keep up the great work GB!

I was up until xmas this year 180gks (for you bloody yaks that's 180 x 2.2lbs = 396lbs!) yep a fat ******* but i carried it well...anyway started to walk just after xmas day everyday. started with 1 kilometer (500 meters from our kids school mover the sprinklers over the xmas holidays and back home again = 1 K. did that for a week then 1.5k then 2k then 3k then 5k now walk 8 k's in about 1hour 20min...it's no record but i"m getting there.

I now weigh 146kg's (321lbs that minus 75lbs I want to get under 90kg's 198lbs, another 123lbs) makes a huge difference and and lost a **** load in body size having to take my clothes in several times over and many extra holes in the belts! I want to be around for my kids So I'm having a go and thats all you can do so keep it up man!

Thug, that is fantastic for you too. Congratulations and keep up the good work. You and Adam can have a skinny guy teeter totter contest.

Best to both of you.

Adam,

Good on you for doing so well...best wishes to you on your continued good lifestyle and hope for many, many years of kickin my *** on the curves. :)

Adam, congrats, that's good news. It sounds then you do not have any infarcted (dead from blood starvation) heart muscle. That is a huge victory for you! If the echo also showed good motion (no hypokinesis or activation delays), you are basically getting away with a written warning but no points or court appearances, if you know what I mean.

I know you know this, but you are really going to increase those lifestyle improvements to counteract the short straw you drew.

Good luck on your continued recovery!

Glad to hear the great news Adam! Maybe now you can actually ride your FJR like a real man, and not a girly-man!

Way to go buddy. Glad to hear your recovery is progressing well and you can get back to work.

Great news Adam :clapping: I'm a coupla weeks away from my fourth anniversary of the same thing.

Keep up the good work, eventually it'll seem like something you've always done.
