Anyone know what this fella might be? We're located in the Mojave Desert.

My guess is a snake...

That would be known as a Gopher Snake very similar to a Corn Snake.

NOT Poisonous. In fact, this is a good snake to have around.

And they make really cool pets. They eat rodents.

However - they will bite you - but only in defense. DAMHIK.

There's a six foot long one in my son's bedroom right now. Which he likes, cause it keeps his sister and mother out of his room.

Looks a whole lot like a Gopher Snake. Pretty harmless (unless you count the potential for panicking, slipping on the wet floor, falling, hitting your head on the toilet and dying naked and soaking wet on the bathroom floor).

Any more pics?
Hey, I'm just asking!
Be careful what you wish for. Let's check 'er out with clothes on first....

As a pre-teen, I once kept a Gopher Snake for a while. Great mousers, but a nasty disposition. They mimic rattlers for defense, and have the same attitude.

I'm wondering why there's open dessert with snakes where your wife is stepping out of the shower? You got one of them fancy outdoor showers?

Gary,

You may want to check, fix, tighten up..... the weather striping around your doors or sumpin!! :derisive:

The next visitor may not be as friendly :scare:

I'm actually shocked that it's been this long without a comment about your wife in the shower.
:dntknw:
I knew that would get folks to look ;)

I knew it wasn't poisonous, I funneled him into a wastebasket and released him outside. We've been sleeping with the sliding glass door open because it cools off enough to turn off the air conditioner, but this is a wake-up call. It could just as well have been a mojave green.

If not a gopher could be a rat snake, another good one to keep around. I've had a yellow rat living in my front flowerbed for 2 years now

Is it still alive? Answer: Bad snake

Is it dead? Answer: Good snake

Around here, all snakes are classified as copperheadedrattlemoccasins until at least 20 feet away from me!

:)

All of you are wrong.....................................................................................
