Mike I have been a little remiss in posting Sharon's status. She is currently in cycle 3 of the current chemo and will do the last one next Thursday. Then she is off for a week. We will then see the Dr again and find out where we stand on further treatments. She is doing well all things considered. Her lungs cleared up and have stayed that way for about six weeks now.

Sharon has a little less pain but is never pain free. I think from what we have been told that will likely be a permanent thing at least to some degree. The blood cell count for the chemo did not go down last time but on the positive side it did not go up either. That does occur in many patients on too common a basis. Her attitude remains good and she is able to do more now but still lacks much endurance. She drives some but is limited by me as to where she can go. She is doing some cooking now which she has always loved. Hers is much better than mine, much much better. We both just try to take it a day at a time since we do not know what lies in our future as far as when she will be able to return to "normal".

Thanks for following up on Sharon.

Boomer,

Sorry I haven't responded previously but your wife's fight against cancer is very near and dear to us right now. My wife's mother is going through it so your posts on her condition are all to familiar to us. It is a tough thing to go through and we pray for blessings on those who do. I replied earlier to Jer's post about his wife's battle with cancer and want to do the same to yours. My wife and daughter are participating in a 3 day, 60 mile walk sponsored by the Susan G Komen foundation. they will be carying the names of women they know who are fighting breast cancer. When I read Jer's post to my wife she immediatley asked for her name so she could add it to her list. If it is o.k. with you and Sharon, it would be her honor to carry Sharon's name too.

Please keep us updated on her progress, it is very encouraging to hear from others who are going through the same thing.

Flyball, of course we would be honored for your wife to carry Sharon's name on the walk. We wish her Mom great success in her fight. Remember that we believe much of the success of recovery is the attitude of the patient. As this is our second round of cancer in 5 years we have seen that those who stay positive and thus keep up the good fight are the ones who beat it most often. Family support is also important and it sounds like you are providing that. Blessings on all of you.
