And wait, you are meeting each other in Indiana?!
Yes Allen, I'll be meeting Bob and Janet on Wednesday evening and spending the night in Richmond, IN. Heading up to La Crosse from there Thursday morning.
OK, cool. Depending on your route and departure time, maybe Carl and I will see you on the way!

I'm in. I'll be taking the shortcut and use the ferry across Lake Michigan since the bike goes for free and it saves me a bunch of time. I doubt the SPOT will work on the ferry but we'll see.

Sure it will.

Clocked the ferry across Lake Champlain at 10.4 MPH.

Lake Champlain???? We are talking about the Cat ferry across Lake MICHIGAN. I don't care how hard I twist the throttle I can't make Milwakee from the middle of Michigan in 2.5 hours on the FJR. I don't think the ferry has an open deck so the SPOT might not have an open view of the sky.

Took that ferry a couple of years ago - great ride - bikes / cars are below deck; you would have to carry the spot tracker up to the lounge or observation deck I imagine.
