Hwy 95 in Utah, the Hite Crossing Bridge. I have a video clip of crossing this at 3:05 in this video from some years back.

There's a bridge with similar design in Flaming Gorge, but the landscape makes me think this one may be over the Colorado River on 95 in Utah?

Fred
Correct Fredrider! Marcusorelius also is correct that it is called Hite Crossing.

Fred, you are up if you choose.

I camped by myself at Hite once.  The sunset (and following sunrise) is something that I shall never forget.  Unfortunately, I didn't recognize the bridge.

I know I've seen this.  Must have been when I lived in Denver.  Somewhere in the hills in Colorado but I'll be damned if I can remember where.  Almost crashed the VFR I was staring at it for so long.
You're on the right track, it's due south of Denver. After spending an hour or so wandering through it, I don't know if the guy who built it was a genius or a madman. All it needs is a moat!

I have not been by this interesting place. Missed it by 40 miles it seems. I found it from Google so I'll give someone that has actually seen it a chance. Think bread and chess, FjrVfr.

Ok, it's been 5 days so I'm going to officially guess. It is Bishop Castle (chess) in Rye, Colorado (bread). I've been through Pueblo but didn't go south of 50. I've got the Great Sand Dunes on my list of places I haven't seen in Colorado, so maybe I'll get to see Bishop Castle in the future.

Right, Fred?

I hope someone gets this from one poor quality picture. We didn't get a good shot and were running behind schedule so we didn't get close. If I remember right, a picture of it was on the banner of this forum back when I first joined.

I believe that is what they call the Shiprock, outside of Tucumcari, NM.  I've been there, and I've gazed at it, and to this day, I cannot see the "ship" in the rock....

I was thinking about using that when I posted the Bishop's Castle pic.

Nice pic, Pants. I don’t remember seeing any lakes in Southern Utah so I’m thinking farther north in the state. I also don’t think it has the right terrain to be the Flaming Gorge area. So I have not been in this area.
If somebody doesn't recognize it soon we will have to do some deep searching in Google Maps.

Let me sweeten the hint pot a bit:

1.  This road and area exceeds 10,000 feet.

2.  That body of water has ties to the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame.

Yep, that second one was a big hint. If I get to do my NW trip this summer I may come across that road to see central UT. Work changes are dropping the chance of that below 25% it seems.

I'm iced in and soon to be snowed in on top of that so I'm bored right now. Somebody jump on this and guess or I'm going to take it tomorrow.
