Need A little Help - Anyone live near Oak Island NC?

I`m interested in a BMW R 1200GS for sale by a private party in Oak Island NC.

Is there anyone close to there that could go look at it for me before I do a Fly and Ride or Ship it Home?

John, I live nowhere near NC, but I applaud your noble quest.

(I must note that I've always heard it's not a good idea to purchase a vehicle from someone who lives right on the salty ocean. .....Or from a Canadian. JSNS.)

Googled Oak Island since I had no idea where it was. A little south of Wilmington, NC, and pretty much exactly where Hurricane Florence came ashore last month.

Sorry, Big John, I live 7 hours away.

The location does raise some concerns, but it could go either way. Perhaps the bike was submerged in a salty brine and has a 12 pound squid living in the exhaust; that would be bad for John. Or....... the bike was high and dry and suffered no bad results from the storm, but the owner suffered damage to his home or work place, maybe lost his job; that would be good for John and maybe help the unlucky owner get out from under a loan he can no longer afford.
