I'm looking for a new job in the 3d design/drafting field, and would appreciate any leads or connections you guys may be able to put forward. I'm willing to relocate for a good offer.

I've got 8 years of experience in 3d design, working with Rhinoceros 3d, Maya, 3D Studio Max, AutoCAD, and others. I've also got a strong background in 2d design, web design, audio recording, reproduction and reinforcement. I'm not picky about the industry the work falls into, although my my background is highly specialized in musical instrument design/manufacture.

If any of you have openings, connections, leads, suggestions, or even just words of encouragement, please email me at slapnpop.geo at yahoo dot com, and I'll be happy to forward a resume.

Thank You.

Organ biz gone....ummm....down the tubes slappy? Don't know of anything offhand, but here is a link to the job page here at the U. It's a large University, so something here may trip your trigger, and it's not a bad place to spend ones working life, as the benefits are profound, even if the pay isn't. Good luck.

You can have my job, i just left it yesterday. Jeffboat shipbuilders

I worked in the design engineering department, autocad 2007 2D, 3D and Autodesk Inventor (think solidworks). We also have Rhino, and something else in the works, that I'm not aware of.

We're (er, they're) located across the Ohio river from Louisville Ky, nice city.

If you know (or can learn) the difference between port and starboard, and know AutoCAD, you can work at Jeffboat.

Is that a suggestion or warning?
I'm changing careers, My wife is an independent optometrist in an optical shop. The lady that owns the shop is retiring in a few years, and I'm gonna start working there as an underling of the owner. In a few years I should know all there is to know about the glasses business (or at least the minimum I need to know to keep the place running). Then the owner retires, I buy the business, and file for bankruptcy 2 years after that. whoops, freudian slip.

That's kind of scary, I came from a family of Opticians to go into 3d design...

Let's just say the grass is always greener....
...over the septic tank.

psst... starboard is RIGHT because it has 2 R's while port only has 1.
you remember because PORT and LEFT both have 4 letters and STARBOARD and RIGHT both have...wait...ok, well PORT and LEFT have 4 letters!

Slap -

I'm in Birmingham, AL and I work for an architecture / engineering / construction firm. We do pulp & paper, chemical, industrial... a lot of different markets. I don't have much to do with what goes on in-house as far as engineering apps., but we do 2-D and 3-D stuff... AutoCAD and PDMS are a couple of the pgms. we use. I don't know if there are any openings, but things are jumping right now. PM me if you'd like me to put you in touch with HR.

but with my way, you only have to count to 2 instead of to 4! the time saved might help while trying to dodge photon torpedos closing in on the port nacel.

Left wing light is red, port wine is red, therefore, port is left! Starboard is the other one.

My company employs those w/ 2D & 3D Autocad/Microstation talent... although, I don't think that they are hiring in that capacity right now. Will keep the ears open. Good luck Travis,

Heidi
