So, when I got my 2005 Fjr, it did not have a windshield on it among other things. Well I got a V Stream for my b-day and now I need the 2 pieces that sandwich the windshield in place. I know that I could buy these pieces new from the dealer, but I don't have much money. I have been riding it for the last 3 months with no windshield at all. Any help would be Great!!

Thank you

Carl

Hi Carl

There is only one piece that goes in front of the windshield then you have the shield then the bracket that is attached to the bike and makes the shield go up and down.

you should have little rubber grommets with brass threaded insert in them that are located in the W bracket they are you attach the shield too.

Hope that makes sense.

and where are you located?

Carl - if you end up needing to go 'new', try ZanottiMotor.com for some discounted prices.

How bad do you want an 05 'blue' windscreen 'W' bracket? IOW, would you take another color?

You may also need part #8, that being the left side arm. The arms each have a spring on them that was probably also removed when the original arms were removed. That shows as #10 on the left side. I don't see it in the picture for the right side, but you need one there too.

You sure the windscreen retract is otherwise in working order?

Carl is one tough M**F** for riding this PNW weather without a shield. Not many people would go out in 38 degree rain for a 300 mile run. He does it repeatly and I know he would help any FJR forum member at the drop of a hat. Good karma to someone that has these piece laying around collecting dust and sends them to Carl.

I feel like :dribble: after the ride, but it is worth it when I can see all you great guys and help any way possible. Barry, it was good seeing you again and meeting your wonderful wife Jean. Will have to meet up again soon.

Those parts are not too pricey if you contact one of the vendors who regularly do business with the folks here you can get a pretty good discount. Better than getting sick and missing work or spending money on a doctor. One example of a good place to buy parts can be found here. I know there is also a list somewhere on the forum of the places who give good prices on parts.

I have 2 and 5, and the rubber grommets that go into 5.

2 is dark grey, you'd probably be fine just scuffing it up with some 1000 grit sandpaper, then spraying with a relatively close blue or just do it black like the 03.

$70 for both w/ grommets, plus actual shipping.

I am interested and will find a way to get the money. Send me a message with paypal or what ever info and shipping costs. My zip is 97236.

Just leave me the info and I will keep you updated on when I will be able to send it out.

Thank you

Carl
