Petey,You mentioned pelvic injuries...was there any head injury for our friend Jack?
wheatie, when I saw Jack last Sunday I was the only one in the room with him. He is not able to speak, but did respond to my questions with head nods and shakes. I did ask him about head injury which he gave me a no head shake.Kevin was able to make contact with Jacks wife, who btw has major health problems right now as well. Jacks wife told Kevin about his injuries which was the pelvis and ribs, however Jack also is waering a neck brace. I hope to get more info from his wife when possible.I don't want to be an aditional distraction at his familys time of stress. I hope to go see Jack in a couple of days providing he can exept visitors.

Damn, sorry to hear about this. Please let him know we are all rooting for as speedy a recovery as he can with those injuries.

Was this on MO 90 between Noel and Washburn? If so, there are many places where you top a hill and there is a driveway on your right or left.

Great road, but lots of places where this could happen.

Yes, about 15 miles west of Washburn...

Just got some updates on Jack. He had surgery yesterday to plate his pelvis and the doc attempted to insert screws to a separated disk, but decided against it because the screws would be too close to some nerves.

Oh yeah, Damn, last time I was through there about a month ago I had to rein in my speed because I got to thinking what might happen if I crested one of those hogback hills and someone was turning left in front of me and I was carrying to much speed to avoid them.

I'm wondering if the driver of the SUV got a failure to yield ticket, or anything like that.

The reason I thought about it was I wonder if he'll be covered by insurance for all the bills?

Petey, Hoping for the best possible outcome for your friend Jack, prayers on their way!

Rick

Went to see Jack yesterday ( still in ICU ). Boy what a great supprise, he looked soooo much better just one week after his wreck. He is able to talk and I had to explain to him again what realy happened, he has no recollection what happened. He remembers having lunch at the BBQ place. He has a badly damaged tendon in one leg, which still needs to be addressed. He is very greatful for all the prayers and good wishes.

Wow! That is great news!

Be sure to tell him that all us old Hooterville riders want to see him get better so we can heckle him some more!

Petey,

The one reoccurring thread looping endlessly in my cranium scareabellium is "There for the but the grace of God goes I".

John Ryan,

Your bud,

..and the list goes on.

I am grateful to ride, even knowing the risks.

Prayers offered for your bud and for you too, Petey.

Don

Something to be thankful for

I got onboard here a little late, but I prayed for him as well. I was just thinking how fortunate we are to live in this day and age that medicine has come so far and can accomplish so much. Many of us remember a time in our youth when the MRI and Catscan weren't even thought of yet and television was a little 10 inch black and white screen that only rich people had.

It ain't over

However, the blessing of these medical advances comes with a price. And for some, that price can be REALLY steep. It's no doubt too soon to tell, but I'm wonderin' how Jack and his family are going to fare when the bills start pouring in. Let's remember to pray about that as well???
