Odd that Mamaha makes their own bearings-I thought everyone used standard sized bearings from a manufacturer like Timken or ***.I can usually get any bearing for anything if I bring the old one to a local distributer and they measure it. Mayhaps you have a distributer near you?

The Gen I Bin o Facts describes NTN bearings. Maybe you can get a cross reference from these:

Left Bearing

Bearing NTN brand # 6204CLU

Right Bearing and seal

Bearing NTN brand # 6304CLU

Seal # SD 28 53 6

As long as we're at it for the front:

Front Wheel Bearing 2x NSK 60/22 DU or 60/22 DDU (they are a sealed bearing both sides)

Front Wheel Seal 2x DC 28 44 7 (they are a double liped seal)

150k miles - 26k 2010, 27k 2011

(mistakeningly thought others would catch mechanical issues including maintenance by sight)

friendly shop will call his Yamaha dealerships contacts in the morning...he has good relations with Rocky distributor (no not horror show  )

ordered All Ball fronts and (cough dang cough) EBC front pads when I always run OEM...but he could get those in 2 days before realizing he needed the rear bearings from Yammy

I keep extra stuff purchased for the heck of it when making an order from Yamaha (Ron Ayers)...I have a few spare bolts/fasteners for most of the bike, at least what I've removed

If someone needed a set of caliper bolts, I'd be happy to send them fast way and we would settle up later. I somehow kept wheel and stem bearings for my Goldwing waiting when I'd decide to replace them

I keep a new front tire and usually pads since I ride so much.

Aaron my friend and mechanic extranoire rolled Isabella off the trailer and started playing with the front brake lever...he gets this look and puts the bike on the center stand and has me sit on the seat with front tire up in air...he starts jerking the front wheel hard and friggin balls fall out to the ground...the rolled metal collar all around the outside of the bearing peels right off into a semi circle of sharp metal.

God's Grace folks, God's Grace...it sucks, but not as much as the ugly possibilities

Damn - Go out and buy yourself a lottery ticket! You were probably 5 minutes of riding away from a catastrophic front wheel failure. Wouldn't be pretty.

+1 on the bearing houses. Most MC bearings are "standard". You just have to find out which standard..

Yo Mike - who the heck changes your tires?!?!?! They *should* have been inspecting bearings when doing that. Make sure they do it in the future.

Hey Mike plenty of online suppliers out here...Just get the dimensions from em an google it.. You will save a bunch of money dealing with a bearing wholesaler as opposed to a dealer.
