I ordered a pair of Sena SMH10 last week, and got it on Friday morning. I was eager to put it through its paces and asked the wife, "wanna go for a ride?"

We took a short ride to Bukit Tinggi. About 111 miles. The Senas are great! It sits a bit awkward on the C3, although its still secure, but the N103 is a perfect fit. Riding with the wife is so much more enjoyable with these babies.

This is the C3 - notice that I had to mount it lower and it doesn't sit flush with the helmet's outer layer.

This is the N103 - Its a better fit. Plus the helmet has a recessed area in the foam near the cheek, which is a perfectly snug fit for the speakers of the Sena.

Anyway here are some snaps from the ride.

We mostly used highways to get there. Once we got there, we stopped at this horse stable. They have 15 horses in this stable. I have about 140 in my FJR :)

I was trying to figure out some really macho pose but could only come up with this lame one...

Every day, they give the horses some exercise

Check out that stallion in the back. What's that - 18 inches?

After the stables, we stopped by the Botanical Garden and Japanese Garden

I parked my bike on a slope and was discussing with the wife on how we should park it. After 3 drops in 5 months, I was weary about parking it on a slope like this. Wifey wanted me to put it up on the double stand, but I elected to use the kick-stand instead. Put it in gear and left it there and hoped it would stay up until we got back - and it did. Look at the pic below - the camera is level - the road was sloped just as you see it in the pic.

There really wasn't much in the Botanical Garden. Lots of flowers, sure but we were more interested in the Japanese garden. So we took this one pic and went to the Japanese side.

These are all from the Japanese Garden

Bukit Tinggi is also famous for this tourist spot called Colmar Tropicale. We took some snaps here before heading back home to have lunch with the kids.

Another failed attempt at some heroic pose...

That was our short day out. Hope you enjoyed the pics.

As always, thanks for looking.

I've had my scala Q2 for a couple of years, wonder how these compare. Looks like it was a nice ride, good photography skills too.

Again nice pics Nik!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I'm looking into getting that set up as well. The reviews on Webbike world are looking good. They still have some improvements to make as far as pairing them up with multiple riders and gps, radar and cell phone but just for communicating and music they are top notch. I don't have all the other stuff anyway but who knows next years model may be even better. Looks like they are better than anything else at the moment for sound quality and ease of use. And not to pricey for being bluetooth.

Thanks PJM. I've never used anything else prior to this so I have no point of comparison. But I did do some homework before buying this and I figured that with the large jog dial, the Sena would be much easier to use with gloves on.

Thanks Keith. I saw those reviews as well. Can't say much about pairing the Sena with gps as I don't have one (yet) but it pairs nicely with my 5 year old Nokia 6300, although I can't control the music player from the Sena. As soon as it pairs with the phone, the music starts playing and all I can do is listen and adjust the volume from the headset. I'm wondering how well it will work with multiple riders too but I think I probably will never use it in that mode as the buddies I normally ride with don't intend to get one.

how is the sound quality with music

i find my scala q2 is alot liek listening to music out of a tin can

terrible sound quality

also what kind of camera are you using

your pictures have an amazing quality

Mike,

Thanks.

The music quality is not that great. I guess your description of listening to music out of a tin can is apt. That's kind'a what it sounds like. I don't wear ear plugs so I hear the wind noise as well. But the music can be heard quite clearly over the wind noise.... I think if I do this over the long term, I'm going to go deaf pretty quickly. Time to look for some decent earplugs.

Oh, and the camera - its a Canon 5D2 with a 17-40 lens.

Nik,

I really enjoyed your report! Excellent pics and write up. I use the Chatterbox XBI, and it links to my Zumo 550, which links to my cell phone as well. I enjoy listening to music on most rides, I wear foam ear plugs, and must turn the volume up all the way! It works OK, but the sound quality (even without ear plugs) is really not that good.

Thanks again for the report!
