i am chasing a electrical gremlin. can any of you tell me where the neg. cable ends up on the engine without me tearing the whole thing apart. i suspect a bad ground and i live in a salt enviornment so i need to clean both ends of each cable.

I thinks its at the bottom, right front of the motor. You can see it through the botton slot in the fairing.

good spotting. it was an ugly mess. i had it out on the salt at bonneville and then rode through a bunch of mud in wy. on the way home. that is a poor location for a important connection. i also ran a new ground from the batt to the frame. time will tell if this solves the problem.

After locating and sterilizing the connection did you think to seal the interface? I've used several coats of brush on gasket sealer with execllent results. Hope all works out for you.

You can also solve the problem by leaving the scoot in the garage.
