This isn't my ride. It has been organized on the New England Riders forum, but they are a good bunch of folks (as far as I can tell. )

The link to their forum's announcement is here

Their forum is a little tough to navigate (yeah, we're spoiled on FJRforum) , but the jist of it is that the ride starts out this Saturday 7/28, with KSU at 9AM at the Shell / Dunkin Donuts on Rte 202 in Orange Mass. That's the same rendezvous point we have used in the past for Western MA and Quabbin Reservoir rides, etc. This doesn't sound like it will be a blistering pace type of ride. More of a sightseeing and sniff the roses thing.

I'm planning on making my way down there early on Saturday from ManchVegas, probably by a fairly direct route. But it will be a pretty early departure from these parts. We are looking at having a little FJR sub-groupage. Showing the force, if you will. ;) But we do need to know if you'll be coming for the lunch stop reservations. So if you think you'll make it please post up here with the number of folks.

I'll figure out a route there and what time we have to leave if other locals want to join in, but again...

it will be pretty early (read cooler!) and we won't be able to wait for stragglers (so don't be late!).

I'm in. Two for lunch, sir ;)

I'm going to make this ride, turn and burn home, exchange pillions and load light camping gear and head for Mt Washington, so will have a full day of riding for sure!

Where's we eatin' boss?

I'm in and leaving Fiskdale DD on Main St (Rt 20) ksu 0700 with Audioguy to head to Orange for 0830 if anyone from around here wants to ride in together.

S76 said he may be going, but I think he is asleep this week. I'll call him and see if I can wake that old guy up.

We won't be in any hurry on this ride, but my slow pace will be +20 in the corners and less in the straights. I'll wait up at every turn for everyone to regroup. Our group at the moment is four FJR's. Don't worry about keeping up, Have fun and ride your ride. The golden rule of group riding will be strictly enforced. Don't hit the bike in front of you!

Lunch is at the Rt 2 hairpin. I'd like to get pictures of the FJR's dragging pegs around that corner before lunch. I think we'll have time before the group gets there. Well pictrues ofeveryone except the FJR's with training wheels. I'm not naming names here CJ, but I'm still mad you wouldn't spill the beans on Fred.

I plan on making this ride to break in my new to me RDL seat.
Five FJR's. :clapping:

This ride is a RIMBY ride put on by EasyEd. Ed started a thread here about the ride details. The ride has been around for awhile and used to be led by Pontzilla who was known to always wear Hawaiian shirts. So wear an Aloha shirt if you have one.

Riders meeting is 0845

KSU is 0900

I'd like the FJR's to park together near the Shell entrance and have your gear on for the riders meeting so we can helmet up and be the first group out. Everyone keep a long distance to the bike in front of you except in towns where we will slow down. You want to ride close together there so we have a better chance of staying together.

Good Day,

I will be attending this, ksu in Colchester, CT at 6:30, slabbing it to Greenfield MA :angry2: and then side roads :yahoo: . Will be heading home after the ride. I will be riding with some of the other NERs.

See ya' there

Glenn

Yup... Thanks, Mossy. Just came here to post the same. Guess it's off for this weekend. Postponed for one week.

Ah well. I'll be riding somewhere. Take care y'all.

Phuck it, I'm riding anyway. Anyone want to join in if you wake up in the morning and it's not raining cats and dogs, you're more than welcome to join in. Same bat place, same bat time. I will be riding similar area, but not following any specific route. I'm familiar with those roads.

It's sunny with blue stuff in between the clouds here in westminstah...... Coffees on, chocolate chip pancakes in the makings and will be at that meeting spot at 0845 in Orange at the DD in case anyone wants to catch up or to catch anyone who possibly may have not gotten the cancellation message!

Well, no one at the DD so topped off and off we went! Mostly cloudy but plenty of broken sky to have sun for a better portion of the ride. We went down 202 South and picked up a few twisty side roads with some really nice fast sweepers until we hit 116. From there it was mostly a straight shot on Rt 112/8 to Dalton where we had lunch at the Hot Dog Ranch..... Guess what we had for lunch? Hot dogs!

Being on a time budget to get home, we paid the bill after the food arrived so we could just go when we were finished. (great IBA tip that works rather well!) good thing cuz it was already sprinkling by the time we rolled out. This was soon followed by about twenty minutes of light rain and one close call with either a blown transformer or a small bolt of lightning! There was less than half a second from what sounded like a large caliber handgun blast and the bright white flash.... Loud, but though it would've been much louder if it was alighting strike that close?

We road back eastward down Rt 9, then onto 8 and 8a to 112. Then a straight shot heading home on Rt 2. Had just some very light rain intermittently along with some road spray, so nothing major that I thought would've scared off any of the heartier FJR types. ;) Was a good test run for checking out the new jacket and helmet.

Rain date is this Saturday the fourth.

Post up if your in!

Heads up if your coming up through Sturbridge. Pan Mass Challenge ride starts Saturday morning so you may want to avoid RT20.

El señor Willie,

You may wish to post a new thread with the new date, lest it be missed due to misrepresentation of current thread title..... could be missed as it currently just looks like chatter after the ride at this point.

I'm unable to make this day, unfortunately. I'm currently doing the up for 36, sleep for three, repeat, cycle! Christ, I can't wait for school to start back up!
