Not that I know of. But remember this is a buyer's market and 11 something for a new 2008 is too high in my opinion. Is it an A or AE model? I know there are some good deals going for leftover AE models.

If it's the standard 1300A model I would offer 10,500 out the door and wouldn't pay more than 11k out the door. Too many bikes out there for sale to pay more than that.

Thanks for the response. I like your thinking but do you think they'll sell for less than "invoice"? The guy is claiming the 11 is invoice although I saw a new 2008 AE for $9999.

That's the bike I used to have. Great bike. No major issues. No major difference in the 09. But I paid a little over 12k+ for mine. I think, in a buyer's market, you can get it for less than what they are asking.

Exactly. You don't care what *his* price is. All you care about it what you can and/or are willing to pay. If you think 11 something is a fair price, buy it. Otherwise, give him your price and see what he says.

It is a buyers market, but it is a lot like real estate in that it depends on your area. The supply and demand thing and availability realy affects a local market. Spring of 2008 I bought the new GSX650f and paid full retail, I've never paid full retail for anything! If I wanted the bike, and not drive 6 hours, I had to pay cause that is what they were going for here and a dealer would laugh at an offer of anything less. This year I got the 2009 FJR for $12,200. otd and other dealers (after the bike was bought) flat told me they couldn't sell me that bike for that. Dealer invoice of course doesn't always mean that is what they payed for the bike. As I recall dealers were able to pick up some "surpluss" '08 and '09 models for a few grand less, hard to say if this bike fits in that category. If you live in the "frozen tundra" of the north like I do, this time of year is a great time to deal. I Really enjoy both bikes!

Doesn't matter what their invoice was. In the end it's a leftover 2008 and it's a buyer's market. Is his "11 something" include the tax, tag, and title fees? If so then it's not too bad but you always want to start your negotiating below what they are asking.

I don't pay MSRP or "retail" price for anything I buy. I refuse too. Let them make their money on the next guy. Each day that bike sits in their shop they are losing money on it period.

Good luck and hopefully you can get it for a good deal.

I recently drove 6 hours to buy my new to me FJR. Sometimes its worth looking outside your area to find a better deal.

I bought my New 2008 2 months ago for 10.6K without TTL, a little over 11K after TTL.

Supply and demand differs location to location. My delear (good guy) as far as dealers go. Had been buying up other stores stock and selling at lower profit, making money off volume. Still is, you will see their new 2008 AE's on Ebay out of Tulsa.

I offered a closer dealer the option to sell to me at the same price. He countered with a higher price. I told him the price I offered was not negotiable. I think he disliked having no control over the sale. Driving 150 miles to buy the bike saved me a grand.

Shop around, I have no regrets!

I agree with all the advice given here. I do want to trade my FZ1 and I'm not sure if that will mess things up. Also, they're really pushing a '09 Concourse now. I wonder why.

I just picked up my '08 a couple weeks ago. Dealer asking price was 11,299+TTL with 1100mi and an OEM top case added, but they accepted an offer to get me out the door that day for 10,130+TTL. While doing paperwork they said I was they only person to even look at that bike in 5 weeks.

In a market full of sport bikes and cruisers, it's good to be into STs! ;)

I've asked a local Austin dealer to try to match that eBay Tulsa dealer's price on an AE leftover. It's been 24 hours and he hasn't gotten back to me.

They're pushing the '09 Concours because the 2010 is new/improved in so many ways, that the '09 may never sell later on. Make the fall season your advantage and show what others are offering...new or used it's over supply. You deserve a great deal if you are buying in the fall. All prices will be higher and harder next spring.

Greetings fellow Marylander and Terp alum! If you are interested in a 2007 FJR AE with @4k miles, I will be selling mine REAL soon.

Since you are not far from me it would be an easy, peasy transaction for you!

I have had some health issues recently (not bike related) and want to sell mine. Have had a great time but must say goodbye

to motorcycling for a bit.

If you want to PM me, I will give you some more details on the bike and extras.

Ride safe!
