The $11500 price seems way too high to me. I bought my new leftover 2012 in Oct 2014 from a dealer in Clearwater FL, and the unit price was $9692, $10534 OTD. I felt like I got a pretty fair deal on that one. It's a year and a half later, so an identical bike should be much less that $11.5K.
And the 2012 has all of the gradual, subtle refinements that took place during the evolution of the Gen2 while still retaining the Awesome Cobalt Blue Color. In my opinion, the 2012 is probably the most desirable Gen2 of all.
I agree with that! Cobalt Blue with silver wheels is my favorite combination. When my '06 got totaled, there was only one choice for me for a new replacement. I'm glad I was able to find a leftover '12.
How has the bike been stored for 4 yrs?Is dealer supplying new battery, tires, brake hoses and fluids?
Will Yamaha still offer YES if owner wishes to purchase?
Why has it sat for 4 yrs? Was it a demo bike? Any significant mileage?
Ensure purchaser gets all the bits, owners manual, bag liners, the body colored covers when bags are removed, extra key/lock, etc etc. Bikes that sit are often a target for 'borrowed' items.
Just a few thoughts to consider when dealing on price.

I have no idea how my bike was stored while it sat awaiting an owner. In it's crate? Assembled on a showroom floor somewhere? I have no idea, but it was in perfect shape when I picked it up, not a mark on it.The dealer didn't replace anything as far as I know. The battery that came in the bike cranks like new. The stock Metzelers were crap anyway, so I replaced them at 5000 miles with PR2s. The brake and clutch hoses look perfect. I flushed the brake and clutch fluid at 5000 miles, and the clutch fluid looked pretty nasty. Glad I did it early.
I was able to purchase a 48 month YES contract for $389 from D&H, no problem at all.
My bike had 3 miles on the odometer when I took delivery...I assume from a test ride after assembly. It came with all the usual stuff; owners manual, spare key, bag liners, side case hole covers. I don't recall if I got the extra lock for a trunk, but I didn't really notice since I was going to mount a Givi case anyway.
That's my experience with buying a new leftover bike.
