That is my plan, but as they say........everyone has a plan until they get hit in the mouth. Luckily, my wife is not a violent person by nature.
Geez, and you never know where the hit is going to come from. Been bad around here for hail storms. I know of several folks who got hit by the first storm, paid out deductibles for house and vehicles. Got the roof replaced and cars fixed up when along came storm number 2. All new claims with all new deductibles. One guy has been out of his house for two weeks and had all three cars totaled. Storm number 3 rolling through tonight. One guy I now has now eaten up all the cash he'd put aside for a new bike. Sucks getting hit in the mouth.

Looking at parts for the Tech Day coming up.
There's a tech day in IL coming up? Where at? and how do i sign up?

Also, I've had a good experience at BBK in Elgin if you're up north. I've bought 2 bikes there, prices are okay (median to good) but they have excellent service and customer focus.
Spork,

The tech day I was refering to is this weekend in Michigan. Sorry for the confusion.

When I head up that way, I will have to check that place out.

"Cav pays cash for his toys!!"

^^^ What he said, and to add to it - I may have the cash, but I already have 2 toys in the garage, and they are not nearly dead yet..

This dealer still has two advertised, slightly used 2013's, 6 hrs away for me.

kieefjr,

As I have said before. Anytime you deal with these guys remember one thing. Caveat Emptor

I am willing to bet the deal they are advertising is sketchy in one way or another.

When I get back in town, I may drop in over there. 90 miles is never too far to ride for a good laugh. LOL

I will report back if I hear anything reasonable. If u are in the market, I will get you whatever info I can for you.

World of Power Sports is buying up every dealer in Illinois I think? Besides the Decatur shop they have bought Dealers in Peoria; Bloomington; Springfield and I believe are after Champaign?
World of Power Sports, part of the Jackson Automotive group. Soon there won't be any motorcycle people in central Illinois just car salesmen selling motorcycles.

Damn I miss Grayboys!

Yeah, I've not had any luck dealing with World of Powersports. I went in with CASH in my hand and made decent offers on 2 & 3 year old FJR's that are brand new and they would not take my money. Guess that's why their floors are packed with brand new bikes that are several years old. They will NOT deal and I don't get that mentality. How they stay in business I have not idea.

For Central Illinois people, Sportland in Champaign, Illinois has been decent and will deal.

I'm holding out, local dealers aren't ready to deal on a 2016. I'm also not wanting to travel to make a deal but I am considering a 2013 for the color and the price and considering even waiting till 2017 for a leftover 16.

Too hot around here to ride an FJR anyway plus I may have surgery on my shoulder this fall.

Rewards come to those who wait?

I personally would be more interested in a celebrity bike. One someone has farkled a little and then gets tired of it. Anything around 15K miles would be great. I like the 13 color, I really like the 14 color, I really like the 15 color too. So any of the 3 would be fine by me.
To paraphrase a friend of mine, "Cav pays cash for his toys!!" I need to build up a big stash of poker money to pull off that kind of move. I am not there yet. If I get really focused, have a good year, and do not buy anything else with stash money......next winter might work out for such a move. Anything I buy for this current bike will have to be able to be transfered over to a gen 3.
See, I'm rooting for that day for you almost as much as you are for yourself.

Ride on, my brother!
