hey all, just stared putting the wrenches to my new bike.. I got a 06 Yamaha warrior... its 1670 cc's out of the box. I am adding Yamaha's stage IV kit, which is basically a big bore kit, new air intake, & exhaust.. Realizing I still had a little space left on my credit card, I ordered a NOS kit for it too... Its gonna be one hell of a bike. They are saying (not including NOS) it will be ~150hp and 112ft\lbs at the rear wheel... purty sweet

You lucky Dog!

Roseville Yamaha has one with all the mods + custom flame paint I want so bad I can taste it. I came real close to buying a Warrior when I bought my FJR. Most people dont realize they have R1 suspension, inverted forks and all. The smaller fuel tank was the only thing that turned me off.

So does my new 06 FZ1 but it weighs in at 485 with a full tank and 147hp so it gets to the gas station in a hurry.

I would have loved to have the new Warrior having spent so many years on a cruiser but I'm extremely happy that I got the new Fizzer. It's so smooth and stable that I actually feel like I'm riding a small jet airplane. It even sounds like one!

I had an '03 Warrior which is power plant identical to the '06. Stock they put about 74hp to the rear tire. With a full Stage IV kit (hi compression pistons, cams, cam springs, clutch springs, SStar ECU, Velocity stacks, hi-flow fuel injectors, SStar exhaust) my Warrior dynoed at 98 RWHP and 115 ft lb torque. It was a pretty fast Warrior. The Stage IV kit ain't going to put anywhere near 150hp to the rear tire. It will still be a beast compared to Hardley Abelson air-cooled V-twins. :clapping:

Before I had heard of the FJR and trying to get back into mcy riding...I seemed to only see cruisers and sportbikes at the dealers. I knew I didn't want a sportbike because I get bikes for touring mainly. therefore I thought I would have to get a cruiser or a Wing to tour and I wasn't getting a Wing.

Therefore, I was looking to tour on a metric cruiser and the Warrior looked like the hottest cruiser out there. Great looks! Looks like it had more 'gumption than the other cruisers...it was gonna be my target for a bike until the salesman handed me a brochure of an FJR.

No turning back after seeing THAT bike! I came home one day with the FJR - been happy with it ever since. When I use this one up - I'll get another one if Yamaha is still making 'em then...22,000 wonderful miles and counting...

My dad has an '04 Warrior - it I had not been able to get my FJR (I bought off the floor, not PDP) I was going to get an '05 to match.

It's nowhere near the FJR, but it's got a lot of 'grunt' and is a blast to ride.

I had an "05 and sold it. I miss it. Great bike.
