Back in that Pats game in 1982 against Miami, I wonder what would have happened if the football was on a treadmill that was designed to match the speed of the ball, would it have still been good?

:) :) :)

Is this supposed to be true? Is this revenge for Bilichek getting caught filming the Jets this year? With the Pats having little in the way of a running game lately, can the Jets possibly do the unthinkable and win in the mess?
Nope and nope.

The Patriots win in the snow as well, 9 for 9 playing in the snow at home. Weather also is calling for 60mph wind gusts. I'll be watching as usual but wish it was being played in normal weather.

I also grew up north of Boston (Ipswich) and spent 26yrs watching the Patriots suck. Its good to see them and the Red Sox winning.

Here in Ga/the south its all about college ball and the SEC. Most don't even care how sorry the Falcons are. Opposite in MA/NewEngland where most didn't even know that B.C. was playing for the ACC championship.

Go Pats!

Go Dawgs!

Steve

They shoulda lost to Baltimore, but something was on their side. Other than that, I'd like to see them go 16-0 just to make the Dolphins SHUT THE **** UP and shove their champagne up their ass. They may have been undefeated, but w/ that schedule they should've had no problem and they eeked out too many games when they shoulda blown the opposition out if they were that god :glare: .
When do the Pats play miami anyway?
Well, ya know, Mi(waa, waa)ami is on their way to a perfect season. I'd kinda like to see the Patriots call the press and have them join the team for a champagne celebration dedicated to Miami's perfect season.

The Patriots are like all the other teams, some calls go for ya and some don't. The Patriots have been victim to a lot of blatantly bad calls and have been gifted with other key calls. It sucks when the official's blown calls affect the outcome of a game. When I grouse about blown calls my (sometimes not very sympathetic) wife screams at me that good teams overcome obstacles and go on to win.

Xmas eve eve (12/23) @4:15 EDT. In Foxboro. In the cold.

As to the Baltimore and Philly games, I got a sense that the Pats were messing around with some screwy game plans in the past few games, including the game last week, trying to find some new ground. Going no huddle when it wasn't called for, passing a bazillion straight plays. Testing the waters so to speak. It may even have been in their "game plan" to get behind or keep it close so they could simulate a challenge worthy to rise to. Maybe not...

I also have a feeling that the whole team would prefer if they'd lost one game somewhere along the way so the could deflect some of the ridiculous attention as to "unbeaten" records. They already own the longest winning streak in NFL history at 21 games in '03-'04. Does it really matter if you have an unbeaten season? Miami went 17-0 to get theirs. New England is already 17-0 with 3 games left and the longer playoff schedule just to even get to the big game.

If I were the Pats, I'd be far more concerned with becoming the SB champs for the 4th time in 7 years than any silly "streak". Nothing like that since the incredible Steelers teams of the late 70's

She must never have played football in the NFL, or pretty much any other officiated sport (basketball, hockey, tennis, badminton...). One bad call can win or lose a close game regardless of "gumption".

We have been happily togethering for over 35 years because I don't continue this type of discussion, no matter how much it needs rebutting ;)

Do you think any NFL players have the FJR as their motorwackle? BTW...GO COWBOYS!! <ducking>
Rex

RLTW!!
Real NFL players ride ultra bikes and because they are tough, they don't need helmets:

Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers, and his black 2005 Suzuki Hayabusa.

Well, we'll find out what happens, when the game starts in less than a half hour.

I'm strangely disappointed about the weather, only 34 dregrees with a 6mph wind. At least it is supposed to rain.......maybe ice will form up late in the game :assassin:

Am I strange for wanting snow like they had projected?

Raining down there, but still snowing up here. Looking at the weather map it appears that Foxboro is right on the change-over line. It's going to be a cold, cold rain. But with the new field surface they put in, it won't be like the mud-bowl games of old...
