Redbird!!
Corrected some observations.
I got mine for 12,700+145 doc fee (last minute stealers) + Taxes & Reg. Not bad I think.
Pros:
- engine is smooth as silk and purrs nicely. (But I would prefer a snarl on fast gear shifts ... the exhaust is lame in accoustics - but that's the + for touring.)
- shifts well in most gears. I still need to get used to large engine and hydraulic clutch gear changes ... so things should only get better.
- Neutral is easy to find since I can see the gears on display
- sticky rubber and stock settings! I haven't seen the need yet to change suspension settings.
- ergo's are good overall; better than a BMW
- I can ride up/down twisty hiways without worrying about bumps, etc.
Cons:
- tiring on hands in slow stopngo traffic (this can be corrected with seat height / bar setting, etc.) I think it's the handlebar placement + seat angle. I will try raising the seat if it helps.
- Tiny turn signal indicators. What designer changed them from the large ones on 05?
- sometimes refuses to go from 2nd to 1st. Maybe just a clutch setting.
- Doesn't feel sporty (due to helft) ... I will need to explore a middlewight as a second bike
- Stock horn is embarrasing. Getting a nautilus dual tone air-horn.
- Stock grips are hard and do not have a rubbery / sticky feel
Well, no bike will ever be purfect B) for everyone, but THIS IS THE BEST BIKE I HAVE RIDDEN.
So, it's Farkle time :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:
The bike is not yet broken in and I am not yet a good rider on this bike but getting there. So I will have to skip the EOM.
