Farkles. I have yet to see one outside. I wasn't too thrilled with the blue on the '06 but in the sun it just lights up! I look forward to seeing one up close in the sunshine!

In Australia we get THREE colors Th blackcherry looks good with the stripes ,the Blue with the stripes is the best in my opion.

So everyone hates the '07 color? Hmmmmm that color must have been for us rednecks out here in Missouri, 'cause everyone around these parts thinks it's the bomb.

I'm a novice when it comes to the FJR, having just purchased one a week ago and added a measley 500 miles. Initial impressions are very good, indeed. This is bike #38 for me (not counting dirt bikes). I kept my '06 Road King, an '07 Dyna LowRider and that old 1983 Electra Glide with 168,000 miles on it. Then there are a few beaters.... parked on the side.

Keep both if your finances allow. Then go and get another. :D

Really, you can never have too many motorcycles.

As far as the differences between a cruiser and an FJR... there are many. Each type of bike has it's own appeal.

Like someone else said - keep them both, at least for another season.

RUN FORREST RUN!!!! Or get in the truck, car whatever... Sounds like your bike is waiting for you!!! I would say good price also!

Good Luck!

Eye.surgeon,

I had a lens implant 22 years ago (I'm 37 now) and things aren't as clear as they once were, should I get a new lens?

Wait sorry wrong forum, I thought I was on ask a doctor.

$10,800 sounds like a fair price ESP for a cali bike. Try to get the YES warranty for that price and take it. 4 year warranty from D&H $389, BUT it it was a first delivery bike it may be aproaching its 1 year date. YES must be bought before the first year is over

ooooo Absolutely get the YES extended warranty..... never know when you might need glove box replaced, or tach due to burned out bulb.... Both of my replaced on the 05.... drive in, get it ordered go back week later and free replacement with a smile!

The best thing I ever did is trade my Honda Spirit 1100 for an 03 FJR. Don't get me wrong, I loved that cruiser! But what sold me was the handling, braking, and the quickness and power of the fjr. It was so much more responsive. I felt safer on it as compared to the cruiser because I knew that I could get myself out of some bad situatuions because of the features mentioned. If I could have afforded to have both bikes I would have kept the Honda, but.............

Thanks for the input. A little more information on my situation. First I am 6 feet tall/218 pounds and can flat-foot pretty much any bike. Also it's not like I don't like to drive fast--my daily driver is a BMW 545i and I generally drive very fast. So who knows, I may really enjoy driving my bike fast. It just hasn't been an option on my cruiser with an 805cc engine
Other bikes I have considered: ST1300 (seems too geared towards all-day freeway riding for my taste), BMW sport touring bike (probably the best choice for my style of riding but seems way overpriced, although I can afford it if I want it).
I'm also 6' and about 220 pounds and my wife has a 03 Volusia (which I've ridden). I have spent the past 3 years riding cruisers myself with sportbike experience when I was a teenager. I recently purchased an FJR while looking for the power/speed of a sportbike with the comfort and luggage capability of a cruiser. The FJR is very easy to ride and is quite comfortable. Just as others have said though, especially with the very smooth running engine - it is very deceptive as to how fast you're going. It effortlessly speeds along must faster than most posted speed limits. That being said however, aside from its high center of gravity and moderately high seat height, it is extremely easy to take in the scenery and enjoy the ride well below seemingly ballistic speeds. You just have to be mindful of the ability of speed "creep up" on you... If you feel though that a BMW is your best choice though, I don't think you'll be disappointed in the FJR at all...
